Very friendly staff, clean rooms,EXCELLENT customer service, perfect location with the beach and ferry a walk down the block. Nice porch to sit out and relax on after a long day exploring the island, and if your there to fish, make sure you bring back extra fillets for deirdre and the staff!! Great place to stay, both the hotel and island!

More of a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel, the Pequot offers the charm of the Vineyards Gingerbread houses at an affordable price.

The Good: Location is great, staff is friendly, cookies and lemonade.
The Bad: Walls were a little too thin and the beds a little too firm.

Tips: This applies to anywhere in Martha's Vineyard - Travel in the off -season. Much less crowded and inexpensive.

Your stay starts by a warm staff greeting, followed by homemade cookies and drinks in the ground floor living room. All rooms decorated to perfection. Delicious continental breakfast. A bit of a walk to town. Try to get a room in the main building.

Under new managment, but with old Vineyard charm in tact. True cottage vibe. Lisa, the manager, is lovely and adds a sparkle to the property. Casual, comfortable, and convenient to beach, shops, and restaurants. This spot is an economical option when craving the magic of the Vineyard.

If you are wanting a place that wraps itself around you with warmth, comfort, and hospitality in a rather rustic New England setting, this is the place to go. If you like friendly staff that treats you like family, a breakfast that is mouth-watering and you wish you could go back to all day, connections to everything you could possibly need to make your stay fun, and beds that are so comfortable that you don't want to get out of it in the morning, well... just hope that you can get a reservation.

You can walk just about anywhere you want to go (including a beach straight down the road 3 blocks), and the desk will arrange bike rentals that are within walking distance for pickup or can arrange for them to be delivered to the hotel. The restaurant, shopping and nightlife district is also a short walk. I can't wait to go back and see General Manager Lisa and the rest of the staff that made my vacation super.

Room Tip: You may wish to request a low level room.

pretty old, pretty expensive, pretty noisy but also pretty convenient. There are six doors to the three bedroom apartment attached to the Pequot. None of them shut. Nor is there one level square inch of flooring. A resident coven of crows inhabit (terrorize) the neighborhood each and every morning around 6:15. There is no insulation in the structure and very few extra blankets in the closets. The beds have varying degrees of mattress comfort, the best being not good. It's clean, cozy (in a camping out sorta way) lobby refreshments and morning breakfast are pretty good, although it can get pretty crowded around the table. Outside spaces are nicely maintained in a Caribbean island manner. Nice front porch. Cozy lobby and convenient to one of the most pleasant beaches I've been to in ages. Also convenient to "downtown" Oak Bluffs, restaurants, attractions and the ferry. You can get around without a vehicle, (hotel parking is a bit of a trick) but one makes seeing the rest of the island much easier. And there IS more to see besides Oak Bluffs. It is a place of wonderful architecture, vacation rentals, independent B&B's and inns, but no chain hotels or luxury resorts. If you're used to the Holiday Inn Express, lower your standards, and bring cash. Lots of it. Overall an interesting place to visit. Once. I won't be going back in this lifetime, nor would I recommend it highly either. Rated Zz-

Room Tip: the higher the better.

This property is in a residential area within easy walking distance to town and ferry. Our room was fine and the bathroom was outstanding (new).
