“It's pretty”
Reviewed October 14, 2011

pretty old, pretty expensive, pretty noisy but also pretty convenient. There are six doors to the three bedroom apartment attached to the Pequot. None of them shut. Nor is there one level square inch of flooring. A resident coven of crows inhabit (terrorize) the neighborhood each and every morning around 6:15. There is no insulation in the structure and very few extra blankets in the closets. The beds have varying degrees of mattress comfort, the best being not good. It's clean, cozy (in a camping out sorta way) lobby refreshments and morning breakfast are pretty good, although it can get pretty crowded around the table. Outside spaces are nicely maintained in a Caribbean island manner. Nice front porch. Cozy lobby and convenient to one of the most pleasant beaches I've been to in ages. Also convenient to "downtown" Oak Bluffs, restaurants, attractions and the ferry. You can get around without a vehicle, (hotel parking is a bit of a trick) but one makes seeing the rest of the island much easier. And there IS more to see besides Oak Bluffs. It is a place of wonderful architecture, vacation rentals, independent B&B's and inns, but no chain hotels or luxury resorts. If you're used to the Holiday Inn Express, lower your standards, and bring cash. Lots of it. Overall an interesting place to visit. Once. I won't be going back in this lifetime, nor would I recommend it highly either. Rated Zz-

This property is in a residential area within easy walking distance to town and ferry. Our room was fine and the bathroom was outstanding (new).

I recently stayed at this hotel for one night and absolutely loved my time there. It is a beautiful hotel with rocking chairs on the porch, beautifully decorated with a real old world feel to it, it is totally different to any modern hotel, which is lovely- but, be prepared! It is perfectly located, close to the main street, very close to the ferry and beach as well. The freshly baked muffins at breakfast were particularly a great treat. I would highly recommend and hope to return again soon

This hotel is charming, although if you get claustrophobic, you may want to look elsewhere. But I suppose that most places on the vineyard are like this. Staff was very friendly when asked questions or for suggestions. But they had very much a "I won;t talk to you, if you don't talk to me" attitude.
Hotel is very well located. An easy walk to the beach and center of "oakbluff", even for those that are not regular walkers.
Meal tip...to get away from the mostly overpriced restaurants for a meal , go to the grocer that is very close and get a made to order sandwich.
Included Continental breakfast was just that. Very ordinary, but free way to start out the day.
Another tip...very limited outlets. If you have anything that needs to be plugged in, I suggest you bring a cheater to allow for more outlets. We had to use the plug in the bathroom, after unplugging the hair dryer to charge phones, etc..
Cookie are GREAT, don't miss them!!!!
Another tip, there is a three bedroom apartment available for groups. Might be a money saver for some.

This hotel is located 2 blocks from ocean 3 blocks from Ferry and 2 blocks from downtown. It is in a charming neighborhood, with breakfast and in the afternoon cookies with iced tea. The staff was very helpful, having menus for all the local restaurants. Loved sitting on the big porch reading, or meeting up with other travelers.

Once again we had a great time in Martha's Vineyard. The Pequot is in a perfect location one block from the beach, one block from the Catholic church, and just a couple of blocks from the restaurants and shopping. The porch and rocking chairs are a wonderful place to meet with friends. They have breakfast with freshly made muffins in the morning and cookies in the afternoon. They even grow a variety of mint to add to the iced tea. This us a special place.
