Really enjoyed the Side Car Cafe. Had the lobster mac and cheese and my husband had the scallops. Both were really good and the food was more affordable than some other fancy places nearby.

There were 4 adults in our party. We ate everything family style so we could try everything. Overall, the portions were smaller than we felt they should have been, but the taste was out of this world. We started the warm spinach salad which was so flavorful with feta cheese and dried cranberries. Our next course was the lobster mac & cheese. This was the biggest reason we decided to eat here. Honestly, at $20 for a small bowl, it was way overpriced and was just ok. If I were to go back, I probably wouldn't order it again. The flavor was fine and there were lobster chunks, but not enough meat and not enough quantity for what you paid. For the main course, we split the beef short ribs and the scallops. 3 out of 4 of us liked the scallops the best, but we all really liked both of them. The short ribs were very fatty. The scallops were cooked perfectly. There were 4 on the dish and they were served over a flavorful risotto. We ate scallops almost every night that we were in Boston and Sidecar's were the best I have ever had in my life. I am usually not a big fan of scallops and I LOVED them. We did not have dessert or wine. Service was good.

Hard to beat this one...one of the best meals we've had on the Vineyard. Great food...in a no frills bistro environment. Small, seats only about 30..no reservations, so be prepared to wait at the bar..or go early. Very creative menu, and we have nothing to say but good things...we'll be back, for sure.

we had the best meal (of many many meals) on the island at the sidecar cafe. my husband thought the cooking was better than the sweet life. burger was super juicy and actually tasted of beef, my lobster mac n cheese was decadent, the sweet potato fries with some kind of delicious lime/chipotle mayo were dinine and beloved by us all - hard to find something that a 4 year old, 14 year old and picky foodie parents like, but we did it here. the vibe was very chill, the service friendly and the food was delish. not bad value. i wish we went there sooner, but the edifice is not the most attractive for footfall - it's a bit dark, just off circuit avenue, no current menu outside, etc. such a shame because on an island where we ate a LOT of poor to mediocre food, in dreadful places that were ostensibly more 'family friendly' although infact were not, this place was a knock out. i just wanted to hug the chef and could not recommend this too highly.

This place is a great find. Just off of the main drag, Sidecar cafe is a wonderful place to have dinner and drinks. Scott, the owner, is a year round resident so the place has a nice mix of locals, not just the tourist crowd. The menu is fun and advenuturous, taking local ingredients and pairing them in tasty ways. Like the Lobster Mac, YUM! Great place to get together with friends, bring your significant other or even hang by yourself and find out what's happening on the island. The staff very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
