“SECOND VISIT A PLEASANT SURPRISE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2013

My first visit was awful as I commented earlier. Second visit was completely different and so much better. We sat in the main dining room at the window wall next to the small lake. The soft music was mostly classical with some opera. Waitress was very accommodating and attentive. Had a special of shrimp scampi primavera in a creamy sauce over perfectly coook pasta that tasted fresh made. Shrimp was tender, sweet, and not overpowered by the light garlic flavored sauce. My lady's dish was equally tasty and well prepared. Topping this meal off with warm, caramel apple pie that was a delight made this visit one to brag about.

“DITTO THE ATMOSPHERE AND FOOD”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013

Heard it was good! Like other old locations, this one needs a BIG cleaning and renewing. Smelled like an old men's lockerroom. Sat in lounge with TV's on silent. Not bad. Then they turned on the piped in sould music. Don't need James Brown yellin in my ear while I eat! Veal marsala came with half the veal that veal parmigiana had! And, it had no flavor. Only could tase the pancetta rather than the veal! Won't go back! Over priced, overrated!

“The worst restaurant in town”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

The smell of damp, dirty carpet grabs you as you walk into this overrated, overpriced restaurant. The decor is dank and unattractive and the place is not at all inviting. It looks like its heyday was in the seventies and they haven't spent a dime on the place since - given the amount of cars in the parking lot, this place is living on a reputation built up a long time ago.

The problem is that after the depressing sensory experience encountered on entering the restaurant, the worst is yet to arrive - the food! Cheap ingredients, flavorless, poorly cooked and poorly presented. Without doubt, this is the worst place to eat in town, the food is barely edible.

The only saving grace for this restaurant is the service. The staff are friendly but they cannot make up for everything else. Avoid.

“Still great after all these years!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

We hadn't been to Guiseppe's in about 8 years but decided to stop by for lunch recently. It was fairly early and the restaurant had just opened so we the restaurant was nearly empty. We decided to keep it a light lunch with sandwiches (paninis)...so much for keeping it light. Each sandwich could have satisfied 3 people - they were HUGE. And, tasty...incredibly tasty!

As for prices...low, very, very low - making for a superb value! Lunch for two, with gratuity, was under $30...and, again, that was for HUGE paninis! Enough for 4 meals!

Service was good...server was friendly and prompt. And, atmosphere is as we had remembered it with the same friendly music playing in the background. The only partially negative comment would be that it may be time for some of the tables/booths to be updated. But, even that said, the old time feel certainly still has its charm. In addition, there was a smell inside that was not welcoming but perhaps something that could potentially bother others...not certain if it was old carpet or stale cigarettes but it was something. I did notice that prior to entering, you walk by two large planters that were full of cigarette butts and empty cigarette packs....NOT welcoming at all and management should know better. Doesn't give you a good impression going in and makes you think a little bit less of the place when you walk out - even after such a great meal!

All in all, a very good visit back to this great place. Good service, great food, an old time favorite.
