Sam's is a great local hangout. Their slices -- particularly the black bean and the tortellini -- can make an entire meal. It's nice to find pizza that isn't like all the others we've seen forever. They also have sandwiches and tasty desserts, including cannoli, which isn't all that easy to find in the college towns of Western Mass.
Sam's also offers free live music -- often quite good jazz -- several nights a week, which adds to downtown Noho's ambiance. When the weather's warm, the huge front glass doors are opened so that the concerts spill out onto the sidewalk and passersby can join the fun.
