Cute little café. Liked the parachute décor. Friendly service. Great sandwich. Very handy to route 6 and 6a beaches.

Excited to find a place to eat close by to our hotel without parking hassles. 2 sandwiches, a bagel and 3 drinks =$28. 5 year old ordered pb&j on white bread, came out on a bagel? Let it slide. My turkey salad tarragon sandwich with sprouts was very good. Turkey sandwich with red peppers on ciabatta bread was ok, but not worth $8, says my husband. Girl taking orders was in her own little world, don't know if she didn't understand us or just didn't care.

Don't expect a smile from the woman who appears to be running this place. I patiently waited to order my sandwich while she was taking a phone order. When she hung up, she never acknowledged me but instead turned her back and went in the back area. I got the impression she is either burned out or doesn't like vacationers who are only picking up sandwiches for the beach. To top it off, two of my three sandwich orders this week were wrong...not sure how that happens with a signature sandwich since they should know what goes on the items they've named themselves. We had liked this place for morning coffee and the outdoor seating area, but overall it lacks warmth and attention to detail.

The satnav took us to the Village Cafe as we looked for a place to get a sandwich. The menu looks extensive, but looks can be deceiving. Average fare and we were charged $8 for a lettuce and tomato wrap without the rest of the ingredients stipulated on the menu board.

Village cafe is a small, locally owned business. They have coffee, bagels, and pastries in the morning and a variety of sandwiches and yummy desserts at lunchtime. They are only open until 2 pm. There are some interesting cream cheese selections for your bagel...garden veggie, chive, smoked mozzerella and sundried tomato to name a few. A toasted bagel with cream cheese is 3.25. The bagels are good and big enough to fill you up. There are breakfast sandwiches made with bagels..egg and cheese...you can add bacon, sausage, or linguica, too. They usually have about 6 varieties of breakfast pastry too. Coffee is adequate and they have specialty coffee, tea, and chai selections. I've only had coffee there a few times and have never tried any of the specialty beverages.

Sandwiches are made to order and are all good sized with plenty of fresh ingredients. Ive never been disappointed with any sandwich i've had there. There are several combinations for turkey, Ham, Roast beef, and vegetarian selections, too. Sandwiches come on French rolls, multigrain, or ciabatta bread. We love to pick up a sandwich on the way to the beach...sandwiches are available in the early am too, so you could get breakfast and lunch in one visit. They also have ice cream, which we have never tried.

Village cafe is a bit pricey, but no more than anywhere else on the lower cape. There is a large patio with tables and large umbrellas..very nice place to sit and read the paper and enjoy breakfast on a sunny morning!
