Description: 29 years later, Chef/Owner Bob Montano remains committed to creating authentic Italian cuisine in North Truro – from scratch, of course. Montano’s is Cape Cod’s original restaurant for fresh, daily-made bronze-die pasta. All of our pasta is made fresh in the kitchen, and is featured in house favorites such as Fettucine Bolognese, Short-Rib Ragu, and Ricotta Gnocchi. In addition to the pastas, all of Chef Montano’s sauces and pizza doughs are made fresh every day. Montano’s is more than just traditional Italian fare – our steaks are dry-aged prime, our seafood is locally-caught, and our desserts made in the kitchen. We are located just a few minutes away from Provincetown’s Commercial Street and open our doors at 4:30 every night. Buon Appetito!

We live 2 miles from Montano's, and used to go their a lot before we moved up to the Cape full-time a few years back. Since then we normally only did "take-out" from there, as we knew the food was good and it was close and easy.

Last night we decided to go out for dinner, and didn't feel like driving, so we went to Montano's, and got a really great surprise. First, they had re-done the entire interior since we were their last, and the place seems more spacious, warm and comfortable. Second, they still give you a loaf of piping hot, fresh, home made bread with a side of excellent extra virgin olive oil and shredded cheese to enjoy with your cocktails. Third, the food was excellent and we would say a notch above the already good food we were used to getting their. I had the special - scallops marsala on home made pasta, which were excellent (and I know scallops, being from around here - they were FRESH), and my wife had veal marsala. Passed on the homemade desserts, as we had "just enough" with the entre's.

“Worth the trip!”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

We live in Orleans and read a newspaper review of Montanos. It sounded good, so we trekked up there arriving around 5:30. Quite a few cars in the parking lot, but still a good amount of tables available. We received prompt and courteous service. As we were eating the place really filled up so that by 6:15, most of the tables were taken. They arranged nicely so you don't feel like you are sitting cheek to jowl.
We both ordered the prime rib special. It was prepared perfectly, as requested. The meal was preceeded by a crisp salad and delicious bread. We plan to go back soon for more of this good food. The homemade pasta was perfect!.

“delicious food/attractive surroundings/pleasant staff”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

It's an excellent year round restaurant in a seasonal town. The locals love it because it is there for us in February, and the quality is high.

A great place to eat with close friends or groups of people. Very good Italian food. The fresh pasta is highly recommended. Not a rip-off.

“FIVE STARS PLUS”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

A recent very positive review in the local paper enticed friends who live in the area to join us at Montano's. We all had been here before, but not for several years. The restaurant now advertises home-made pasta. The four of us all agreed it was one of the best meals we had ever had at a restaurant. Before the entrees arrived we were treated to complementary fresh bread with aromatic olive oil laced with freshly shredded cheese. Delectable! I ordered the Chicken Pompeii (also available with veal), which combined artichoke hearts, olives, roasted red peppers and garlic in a sauce. It was wonderfully flavorful. This was accompanied by a side dish of rigatoni with house-made marinara that was exceptional. The pasta was home-made, as advertised, but this marinara sauce was so much more flavorful than most restaurants' rather dull version. Others in our party ordered the eggplant parmigiana over fresh pasta; scallops picatta, a special that night; and calamari and hot peppers, also a special that night. Everyone was suitably impressed with each dinner. As a side note, the rest rooms were exceptionally clean. Montano's is my new favorite restaurant on the Cape, and I can't wait to go back!
