“Very Disappointed”
Reviewed July 4, 2011

We have been going to Adrians since they were located on 6A, probably 12 years ago. We were looking forward to a wonderful dinner of Seafood Pasta or fresh Fish and a decadent dessert that Adrian is known for. We were surprised with the change in chef, one visiting from Cambridge and the very limited menu. The Beet salad with Burrata was delicious but rather pricey at $14.00 - after all this is not a white table cloth, crystal wine glass type of place. The Clam pasta was noted on the menu as black pasta and I confirmed with the server that this was made with squid ink - but it looked like spinach spaghettini to me. Pasta for $28.00 should blow your socks off but looked and tasted like it had the same sauce that was under the Beet salad. Weird. So, we tried the Chocolate Cake for dessert. How does one screw with that? Envisioning a nice slice of cake, it looked like a Kit Kat bar with some dollops of different sauces. - For $10.00 - we felt ripped off. Please come back Adrian, we miss you and YOUR food.

“will gilson has it all together at adrian's”
Reviewed June 26, 2011

From the very interesting cocktail and wine list to good espresso after dessert, our meal was fantastic. This was definitely the best dinner I have had on Cape Cod. Manhattan's had an innovative twist. Bacon wrapped stuffed dates and the fish "charcuterie" platter were enthusiastically shared. Roasted beet, burrata and pistachio salad was wonderful but not as good as the warm calamari salad with edamame. I had the wood roasted duck with johnny cakes, maple jus and sunchoke cabbage hash. My companions opted for the broiled cod with hen of the woods mushrooms, arborio congee and red curry broth. Our only "complaint" was that the entrees could have been warmer and our very personable and capable waitress disappeared when we wanted the check. Give Adrian's a try; You won't regret it.

“Tasty but skimpy, over priced portions”
Reviewed August 27, 2010

Had a late dinner at Adrian's and was seated right away. Chose to sit inside, however, outdoor seating was also available. Found the lighting above the table to be a little bright and did not care for the local artwork displayed throughout the dining room. Was unfortunately seated next to a large party with 4 teenage girls who were very giggly once they'd finished eating their meals. My waiter was polite and attentive. Enjoyed my appetizer (artichoke dish) and dinner (sea scallops dish) but was very disappointed with the portion size. Received 3 pieces of artichoke for $7 and 4 sea scallops for $26. Left hungry.

“Make the effort to get to this place”
Reviewed August 7, 2010

After two weeks in Provincetown, eating poor quality food at Michelin prices, I finally broke down and crossed the line into Truro and discovered Adrian's. Here Adrian prepares honestly interpreted Italian cuisine using locally sourced ingredients. He smartly offers both generously proportioned entrees and a broad range of small plate items. This is not a red sauce menu, although there is enough red sauce to adequately represent that genre. I haven't eaten my way through the menu, but I intend to.
On our evening there, we ordered a scampi pizza, thin-crusted and actually tasting of shrimp. The line caught swordfish from Wellfleet was cooked properly, and a preparation of chicken and littlenecks in a red sauce highlighted both. A bowl of littlenecks in red sauce was flavorful without overpowering the briny natural flavors. On the small plate side of the menu, a little flounder filet with carmelized onions and raisins was certainly less intense than its Venetian cousin, sardines in saor, but probably more appealing to the American palate. A special that evening of burrata, mozarella filled with cream, was delicate and flavorful. And a plate of lightly marinated calamari was tender and well seasoned.
The dining area is comfortable, the walls covered with the works of a local artist . There is a large bar area, pleasantly illuminated. An outdoor patio offer the view we come to the Cape to appreciate. The wine list was well chosen and the service was appropriately casual, while still being informative and enthusiastic.
Consider this a destination restaurant. Situated on Route 6, on the hill overlooking Provincetown and one of the great scenic vistas of the world, you will need a car bicycle, or cab to get here. It's worth it.

“Reconsider this restaurant”
Reviewed June 27, 2010

This restaurant is located at a hotel/resort in Cape Cod and you may be tempted to eat there if you are staying at this resort. It's convenient because it is close, but it's a pretty big rip off. The food was ok but was very expensive for the portion size you receive. Also the atmosphere isn't that great. Avoid sitting outside because despite the "bug proof net", I was bitten several times by mosquitos. The mosquitos were also in the dining room when we were moved inside as well as a bunch of spiders that were on the dinner table where we were seated. Unless you like bug bites and small portions at a high price, avoid this one.
