“This Hotel was terrible...don't stay there...”
Reviewed September 2, 2010

We made reservations for the Blue Sea Motor Inn for August 7th to the 11th. I should have known there was going to be problems when we registered and was told "the maid had not turned in the second key" so we were only given one key to the room. The room was on the Dunes side of the road which had a very small parking lot which was difficult to park any vehicle in. The room's carpet was dinghy but the bedding at least was clean although the furniture appeared to have been purchased at Kmart.
A couple hours later I stopped by the office asking for a second key since there was three of us staying and was told there wasn't one... At that point I didn't feel safe or secure at the hotel and didn't leave any possessions of any value in the room. The door lock was a common door knob who knows how many keys were really out there... The slider didn't seem too secure either...
We noticed awhile later the AC didn't seem to be working too well. However, it wasn't too hot that day so it didn't matter. The next day it was hotter and the AC wasn't working properly...it didn't put out cool air most of the time...it sucked!

The pool area was also dinghy to say the least...it smelled horrible and the entry door appeared not to even meet fire code...the only way to open the door from the inside to exit was to pull on this steel cable to release a sort of gate latch on the outside....looked illegal as hell to me!

An emergency came up so we had to leave after the second night of a four day. No refunds at all on our four night reservation so we left paying for four nights and staying two nights but it was worth it to just get the heck out of that place. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the North Truro/Provincetown areas.

My friend and I had a fantastic stay at the Blue Sea Motel, Please do not pre - judge it on the negative reviews. I have spent the last 15 years or so traveling the world fairly extensively, staying in various places and, as such, I feel I can write an unbiased review.

Yes, the decor is dated but it only adds to the appeal rather than detract from it. The 60's theme fits well with the whole experience. The room was totally spotless and the bathroom looked as if it had been recently re-grouted. The bed was a little firm for my taste but I think that has more to do with being spoiled at home! The location could not be better and there is a private beach which was immaculate. The staff were not only super friendly but they all went out of their way to be helpful. If I had to name a complaint it would be that the towels were a little scratchy and an extractor fan in the bathroom wouldn't be a bad idea, but that's really all I can come up with. All in all I would give this motel 2 thumbs up and without a doubt I will be returning next year.

As for travel tips. The best one is that there is a local bus which stops at the entrance, we didn't move the car the whole time we were there. The food in Provincetown is not to be missed but reservations should be considered. Also, the whale watching was the highlight of my trip and I highly recommend one.

Should've known this place would be a dive when we were able to get a room at the last minute in July. We stayed in a very dated room across the street from the main building (dunes view). We had clean sheets but our sink and dining table were not clean, the towels were old and dingy and the bed was so uncomfortable.

Every night we came back to the room our door was covered with bugs that would of course fly into the room no matter how quickly you entered.....gross!

The front desk staff was very friendly but this place needs an upgrade, new towels and better cleaning staff.

My husband and I love to spend time visiting Cape Cod, and the most convenient, romantic, comfortable, and relaxing place to stay is the Blue Sea Motor Inn in North Truro, MA. We have spent vacations here more than a dozen times and highly recommend these accommodations and location to others.

The rooms are clean and comfortable and spacious. Housekeeping service is efficient and thorough. The staff at the reception office is always helpful and supplies plenty of maps, activities, and information. They also supply coffee and decaf for the coffee pots in each room. There is a great variety of room types - something for everyone, from efficiencies with kitchens stocked with toasters, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, etc., to rooms overlooking the lovely beach, to rooms near the indoor swimming pool.

Our favorite room has an amazing view of Provincetown, the wide expanse of ocean, and a walk-in closet! With its own balcony and table and chairs, it's a perfect spot to sit with a glass of wine and watch the lights of P-town. If you don't want to battle for parking spaces in Provincetown, there is a bus that picks up and drops off passengers in front of the Blue Sea. This convenience is such a pleasure! There's always plenty of hot water and the air conditioning makes even the muggiest days pleasant. Our favorite room has a small refrigerator and counter space with cabinets so we can eat in if we choose.

The Blue Sea Motor Inn has given us so many cherished memories of sand castles, watching sailboats, enjoying the twinkling lights of Provincetown, picture-taking, and relaxing. The only things we don't like are leaving at the end of our stay and not finding our special room available!

The Blue Sea offers a perfect location in Truro along with very clean rooms and friendly staff. We have stayed here for the past five years and you cannot beat the prices or the quality of service especially being directly on the beach. Take advantage of the shuttle to Provincetown, it stops right in front of the Blue Sea!

Had an ocanfront room - very dated, very uncomfortable- the bathrom is clearly from the 60's I couldnt even shower, the closet doors were broken, the room smelled of mold and must. Its too bad the people are very nice and the location is spectacular- they have the best beach ever!! they need to update desparately! iits clear the room we were in has not been updated for at least 100 years

Went there with a couple friends because we just wanted to be on the beach and thats exactly where we were. We requested the rooms on the first floor, ocean view. We opened the sliding door and there was the sand! It was perfect for our weekend of beaching and relaxing. Really easy access to P-town and only about a 5-10 minute drive! Nice place for the price, you can't find beach front hotels for much cheaper in June!
