I liked this place. It is a cool old mansion with a lot of character. Very quiet and peaceful with big windows and a lot of sun. The hosts are very warm and friendly without being intrusive, and breakfast was great -- included an omelet and very crisp bacon, as well as many other options.
My girlfriend and I were attending a wedding at Mass Moca and considered staying at Porches, but it is so expensive. I'm really glad we stayed at Blackinton instead. It is a very close drive to the museum.
We stayed in the blue room, which is the cheapest option. It was pretty standard and I have no complaints about it, but some of the other rooms looked very nice and if I went back I might consider paying a little more to stay in one of them.

The Inn is a lovely old home. The Carriage room was quite comfortable and was very quiet. Laura and Paul were gracious hosts who made us feel right at home, and offered good tips on what to see and do -- and where to eat -- in the area. The breakfasts were wonderful, and having wine and cheese in the late afternoon was certainly a nice touch. We would stay there again.

We took off for an unplanned visit to North Adams/Williamstown Mass. for the weekend to escape the fast pace of NYC and found the Blackinton Manor just what we needed. Great classic manor in a very serene and rustic setting. The staff (owners) were about as friendly and accommodating as the come. They serve a great breakfast hot breakfast.
Just a short drive from the Mass MoCA and area hiking trails. Would most definitely stay again for my next trip to the area!!!!

Blackinton Manor is a charning house and offers a lovely large living room for guests to gather in. The hosts have collected menus from local restaurants for their guests to peruse. The breakfast included choices of juices, cereals, and a breakfast sweet (we enjoyed banana bread one morning, pumpkin bread the next). In addition to this generous buffet, we were offered a full breakfast of eggs or pancakes, both with bacon. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The hosts were pleasant but formal.

We just stayed at the Blackinton for a long weekend and the only thing that wasn't perfect was the weather. It's located halfway between North Adams and Williamstown--making it perfect for visiting the Williams College, Clark and MassMOCA museums, Williamstown Theatre festival, and Vermont syrup, pottery and chocolate specialty shops. The sleigh-style bed in the Queen Anne's Room (one flight up) was very comfortable and the room itself was large enough for us to spread out, with a daybed in one corner. The huge bathroom had a claw-foot tub and hand-held shower--not my favorite style but my wife loved it. There was a hot breakfast each morning, good coffee, and pleasant conversation with the other guests at the (shared) dining tables. Perhaps best of all (besides the warm welcome from the hosts, Laura and Paul) was the outdoor, in-ground pool--maybe not authentic for the Italianate building, but an authentic treat. Can't wait to go back!

We had some trouble using the internet service at first and we found that we would have preferred to stay closer to Lenox for the tourist attractions. Also we were not used to being around so much pretty old furniture.

We were delighted to go through the area north of Pittsville that reminded us of our visit to Switzerland. It was so pretty.

We were greeted with home baked cookies when we arrived. Also there was a nice Dove chocolate on a dish on the dresser for us each day.

The dining room had two tables and Laura and Paul had a table cloth or elegant place mats set each morning for breakfast. Paul took care of the cooking while Laura kept everyone served. We had blueberry pancakes one morning and baked omlet and cressants another morning. The fruit compotes were wonderful. I think the breakfast was served on real silver, china and crystal. We enjoyed seeing the local newspaper at breakfast. Coffee and juice was good, too.

The bed was very comfortable. We were in the blue room.

There was no lights central on the ceiling, to go with the period of the house and furnishings, but there were lights on each side of the bed and on the dresser.

I woke up when the train went by a couple of times, around 521 and 750. My husband did not wake at all so don't let that deter you.

We really did not get to see the swimming pool or the garden. The weather was not very hot so it could have been that no one thought we would want to use it. We had plenty we wanted to see near Lenox, anyhow.

The bathroom was fine. The soap and shampoo was outstanding. I was surprised they would have labels from the B&B on them. Also some eyemakup remover and moisurizing cream was in the bathroom.

We would recommend this B&B to folks who really appreciate having a formal breakfast and being surrounded by nice antiques...or at least nice old looking furnishings.

Oh, almost forgot, we were offered brandy for the evening...but we did not take any. Maybe on another visit. It was a nice touch, though. We read about a wine and cheese reception for the weekend but we had other plans in Lenox that evening.

We stayed here with several members of our extended family for Williams College graduation weekend and we couldn't have been happier. The house is lovely. The rooms are large and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious. Laura and Paul, the owners, could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. They were continuously gracious and flexible as our family group shifted and plans changed. They were knowledgeable about the area, helpful and pleasant at all times. I was very impressed that they, unlike other accomodations in the area we had previously stayed in, did not double (or in one case triple) their rates or increase their minimum stay from two to three nights on this very busy weekend.
