If you're open to new experiences, it's hard to imagine your not having a great time at MassMoCA. When we went, there were not a lot of the traditional paintings hanging on walls. Instead, there were a lot of installations, video art, etc. Everything was stimulating, interesting, occasionally beautiful, occasionally funny. Very kid-friendly, and large enough that it never felt crowded. A new aesthetic experience around every corner - we loved it!

MASS MoCA is a huge place and the place to see Modern Art. Unfortunately, it wasn't my taste so much of the experience was lost. Some of the exhibits were large and MASS MoCa was able to handle them with ease. It is a place that you can take kids of any age - there is a "creativity" area geared just for them to make and experience their own modern art - a well-thought-out idea, since the other exhibits at MASSMoCA can be abstract for children and (understandably) "hands-off" as well. They do participate in the "free museum days" offered for Bank of America customers, so check the BofA web-site, as it will save you $15 admission fee by going on the correct Saturday.

We have gone to MASS MoCA many times over the years and each time we have seen some of the most unusual, exciting contemporary art we've ever seen. Arranged in old mill buildings, they have the space to show very large pieces, and very large collections of work. Well worth the trip out to this area. There is a restaurant in the museum so you can catch a snack or lunch there.

This is a world class museum and center for new and experimental art, but they also have some great names and big titles on their list. Camping out in a state park close by I needed this dose of culture badly. Great spaces, great cafe and also great to visit with kids. I loved it!!!!

We have travelled to North Adams, MA for events and have enjoyed MasMOCA every time. Variety of modern art collections- some I get, some I don't. Kid friendly. Each visit the past three years has had new exhibits and we have been able to learn more about the long standing exhibits. The Sol Lewwit stuff is very cool.
