I decided to spend a weekend in Boston but did not want to stay in town. The Boston Marriot Newton was the perfect place to stay. A shuttle service to the MBTA Riverside station was very convenient. The lobby, bar, and restaurant provided an excellent environment and services. The balcony off the back was provided a relaxing place to sip morning coffee while overlooking the Charles River.

Have stayed at this hotel intermittently for the past 6 years it's true that the outside is architecturally dated and the bathrooms are small . But this hotel is a full service hotel with all the amenities one would expect of a Marriott . We had a 2 nite stay due to the boston marathon. There were many runners and spectators staying at this Marriott , the hotel was well prepared. Numerous info packets were handed out with the course info, transportation info, dining info and so on. On race day water bottles and bananas were available to all and at no charge in the lobby ..
Our room on the 7th floor overlooking the Charles River was clean and updated , we had a rollaway bed for our adult son provided at no charge . It was the best rollaway bed our son has ever slept on .. We had access to the concierge which was a plus ..complimentary breakfast, complimentary appetizers and desserts in a lovely setting attended by A very friendly and hospitable concierge staff member ... We shall keep on returning

This Hotel deserves the highest compliment. We stayed there for 7 night and enjoyed it very much. About 2 weeks before our arrival, I got an e-mail, asking if I have special requests. Based on what I read in tripadvisor, I asked for a room at the 5 floor overlooking the river and that exactly what I got. Very nice room with great view. They serve excellent breakfast. The front desk is very professional and friendly ready to solve any issue without any delay. For those who drive to Boston, its' a great location. If you need the T they have a shuttle that will take you and will take you back, all you need to do is to call them, but it takes about 50 minutes to downtown Boston and the ride is really irritating

Room Tip: overlooking the river

After visiting Boston College, we were looking for a place to stay outside of Boston. We found the Boston Marriott Newton through Trip Advisor and stayed for one night. Great customer service. We especially felt welcomed by the gentleman working the front door/bell man. We appreciated the great recommendations for dinner and breakfast from the Front Desk too. When checking in, they asked if we wanted to be near the elevator or get a view, and we chose the view of the river. So pretty! We didn't get any special treatment by having Marriott Rewards, but we didn't need anything more than the friendly staff provided. We will be back.

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. The rooms were very spacious and my party and i got the adjoining rooms we had asked for. The grounds were very well kept and there is a gorgeous river behind the hotel that featured many people boating. They also have a great shuttle that will take you to catch the local trains heading into Boston. The staff was very friendly and helpful!!!

Room Tip: The rooms with the river views are great!!

After a 4.5 hour drive, it was nice to roll up and be greeted by George who helped us with our luggage from the car to our room. Stephanie at the desk explained where our room was relative to the lobby and the concierge lounge. We were upgraded to a junior suite as I am a Rewards traveler. This room was perfect for the four of us with a king bed and a full size sofabed.

The real treat was in the concierge lounge where we were greeted by Matt and Maryse. Both went out of their way to greet every guest coming and going and attended to everyone's needs. In our case it was some bacon in addition to the American breakfast and apple juice for the kids. Matt clearly works hard at providing high service. We hope he is considered for the management program as he really knows how to take care of all of his guests.

We will be back the next time we are visiting the Boston area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators and facing the pond. This is a large hotel so being away fro...

Staff were nice, rooms and linens were clean. You could argue its worth more than the average rating I gave it but there are nice new Marriotts that blow this place away. Its kind of like a well cared for Oldsmobile. It's a fine form of transportation but you don't really aspire to owning one.

We had a nice stay but the decor is a bit dated. How would I describe it?--sort of like that era back in the 80s when the trends were gold and there was a lot of faux white marble around. The carpets look like they could be in a casino.

The indoor pool was really nice. It is small and very warm. It is not really for laps. It's of the salt water variety and does not have chlorine in the water, which is really nice.
