Stopped here on our way home from Boston. Friendly service. Had a craving for wood fired pizza, Max and Leo's came up on the list, thank you Siri! Best pizza I have ever had and family agrees! Had two pizzas and the hot, honey habenero wings. Being from Buffalo, we know wings. These were by far the tastiest wings we have ever had! Wish there was a Max and Leo's in NY! Just a side note, restaurant only has seating for about 15 people! You may do take out too!

My favorite local pizza. Surprisingly easy to park in spite of Newton Corner traffic, although I tend to avoid weeknight rush hour. Very friendly staff. Been visiting regularly for takeout ever since they opened. Seating is limited but diners always look happy.

Some of the best pizza I have ever eaten. Very small dining/bar area. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but definitely a great local find.

We read the reviews on our first trip to Newton, and chose to eat here. We tried the pulled pork pizza with smoked Gouda and grilled onions. It was simply wonderful. We had an attentive waitress and thoroughly enjoyed everything.

After enjoying your pizza, you might be prompted to ask, "Why THIS location?" Because the pizza is darn good. But as we talked, on our way home, we all felt the location forbids many return visits: certainly NOT on a weekend, unless it's take-out...for the dilemma here is that Max and Leo's has about fifteen seats....Literally. Five at the bar, five on the rail, and two small tables. That's it. The pizza is as good as any in the Boston area... Expand that and I would say it comes in below Bob and Timmy's (Providence and Pound Hill Road)...which still stands as tied for best in New England (tied with Frank Pepe's)...And let's get this straight, I think the best pizza in the country is in Pittsburgh and Chicago and Crested Butte Colorado (Secret Stash)...and so many other places...BUT, GO to Max and Leo's... just pick your time...carefully.
