“Great diner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

Wonderful breakfast with a friend. Nice cozy diner ambience with modern Dave Matthews like music in the background. Great service by an attentive and professional server. My friend had eggs Benedict and said the asparagus was cooked perfectly. My blueberry, pecan, cream cheese pancakes was heavenly. More like a cake than a traditional pancake. Also they claim to promote free trade and organic products.

“One of the best brunch spots outside of Boston”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2013 via mobile

Rox is small so do not expect to walk in and sit right down on a weekend but for an upscale brunch this is one of my favorites outside of Boston. Their eggs Benny is amazing along with using local farm sourced meats and fresh juices it makes a great meal.

“Great Upscale Diner Fare!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We came in for dinner. The crab cake app was awesome. Lots of lump crabmeat with very little filler. There two in the order which was surprising for an appetizer. Great value. Could have been pan-fried a bit crispier on the outside.

My entree was the chicken piccata which excellent and the side of pasta was large and very filling.

The one bad item of the night was my wife's Fish and Chips which were described as made with Sole. It came out and it was a VERY thick piece of fish (VERY un-Sole). Because of the thickness, the middle was completely under done. We brought it to the server's attention and they brought it back to remake. The Manager apologized and said our beers were on the house, which we appreciated. The second time, they cut the large filet into smaller pieces before frying and it came out perfect. Very good F&C, though definitely not Sole. Probably Cod, which is typical anyway.

Food was great and they did the right thing to remedy the situation...good service.

“Chic interior, interesting menu ... but food just average.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

Went to the new Lincoln St. location which has a modern, chic lay-out, with a central bar and warm accents. I had the fig and pancetta meatloaf with pan gravy ... it was kind of crunchy, but in the end not very tasty. Partner had the veggie burger which she didn't like. I tried the veggie burger and thought it had potential if you added the right mustard or some such topping.
All in all, the food was a bit average, but I like the interesting menu and will give it another try soon.

“Recently opened Lincoln St. location, Newton Highlands.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

This other location, recently opened, has the same great food, service, and value. However, it also has a little take out market on the side which I find is a great addition. The renovated interior (formerly Baker's Best) is nicely done and very comfortable. A bit more spacious than the Newtonville location. Central bar with lots of seating. Great addition to the Highlands.
