“Does a great view cancel out average food?”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

Service was great and the view was beautiful. You can eat on the deck as well as indoors. The fried shrimp were very large and OK, the fried oysters not so - overbreaded and sort of tasteless. We weren't charged extra for the fly fried onto them either (not kidding). It was a real appetite killer. This is obviously a local hangout. The bar crowd filled the place as well. Prices are low to average (fried shrimp $13.99, oysters $18.99). Check your food before eating.

“A rare find these days”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

My wife Dorothy and I decided to take a ride from Shrewsbury to the North Shore. We hadn't been to the picturesque town of Newburyport in years. The town certainly has changed, for the better I may add. Dinner time came quickly and the choices of restaurants were plentiful. We decided to have dinner at the Starboard Galley, what a find, finally a restaurant that has old fashion good value and fine quality with good service to boot, what a find these days. We now have a destination and will spread the word to all our friends. A few words to the management, "thank you and keep up the good work."

“Catered private lunch in a restored lighthouse”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

For our anniversary we purchased a 5 hour private lunch in a restored lighthouse that was catered by the Starboard Gallery. Part of the fee went to the Lighthouse Preservation Society and part covered lunch. What a memorable and local treat this was. The food was great, everything was the correct temp, the views were unparelled and the privacy was perfect. You have to be able to climb 55 narrow stairs followed by a 6 foot ladder to earn your meal with a view. The waitress was attentive and willingly spread our courses out over the hours.

“Not that great”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

I would have given this place a poor review but the service was really good! Had the lobster bisque, was average at best, got the fish and chipsnand they came in chunks instead of one whole piece. It was a bit bland. My husband had a lobster roll which was prety good, but I've had better. There are ALOT more choices there, so avoid this place.

“Don't bother”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Served tap water that was overclorinated then charged $2.99 for a small bottle of Poland Springs. Calamari & shrimp we're not seasoned and tasted bland. Steak tips were ordered medium rare and came with absolutely no pink. Skip this place. It may have been good a while ago but it certainly isn't know.
