Very happily surprised by the artful and delicious dinner we had after we saw a movie at the Screening Room last night. Although the restaurant was crowded, the owner found us a place to wait and seated us shortly afterwards. The noise level can get up there, but the atmosphere is warm and convivial. I had the best ever salad--the grilled romaine with Gorgonzola dressing and onion jam. What a great salad innovation. The maple orange salmon was delicious. Great to see grass-fed beef on the menu. If the owner, Mr. Epstein, is reading this, how about some free range chicken as well! I agree that a little crusty warmed bread would be a lovely addition to the pre-service. Looking forward to visiting Loretta's again.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in newburyport. Very reasonable and the food is good. 12.95$ for a delicious chicken dinner. Good selection of dishes. Nice friendly atmosphere.

Went to dinner with three friends last Friday. None of us had been to Loretta's though we are all local. We had a delicious dinner and a lovely waitress. We usually try out new places when we go out, but we will go back to Loretta's.

I live in Ipswich, just a stone's throw away from Newburyport. On our way up north, my husband and I thought to stop for a quick bite. Walking past Loretta's, we noticed the specials in the window and popped in for a soup and sandwich. The menu had a wonderful selection of soups. salads, sandwiches, etc. We ordered the Loretta salad, carrot ginger soup, and a Caprese sandwich (melted mozzarella, tomato and lettuce, drizzled with a sweet balsamic vinegar on ciabeatta bread--soooo good!) Everything was fresh and delicious, and the server was very nice. There are lots of vegetarian items, and they were so enticing that even we carnivores didn't even notice that we had ordered all veg items. It's not a vegetarian restaurant--there are many meat dishes that looked great, too. With a beer, this luch only ran around $25. Great food, great price. Lots of locals seemed to be there, which is always a good sign. Will definitely go back again.

Loretta's is a small place on the Main Street in downtown Newburyport. We stopped in on Saturday night and had a burger...it was pretty good. We will try it again soon.
