“Not an easy trip around the lake”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

We took the trail around the lake that was supposed to be half a mile. It was much more. (we should have known, since it also said it was 45 minutes.) The trail had some steep spots that were awkward to navigate. All-in-all a good place to walk, but not for those who are not sure-footed, like young ones of older folks.

“Hidden treasure...idyllic views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

We found Questing on Trip Advisor. Its down a quiet country dirt road, but if you use a map, it's easy to find. The trail in the beginning is an old farming road...it's a steady incline but our out of shape 50 year old bodies made it to the top. At the top you are rewarded with beautiful panoramic views of the neighboring hills. The setting us peaceful and pristine. We followed the loop trail into the woods...we should have studied the map more thoroughly though...we missed the cellar holes. We also lost the trail up in the woods, but it was easy to find the field so it was not a problem.
This is a great place to bring your dog. We were there about 2 hours and saw maybe 3 other people. This is not a well known place but its a jewel!

“Umpachine Falls”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

Hiking and splashing long the gentle upgrade at Umpachine Falls, you may easily imagine indiginous early people tracking quarry or seine netting fish or foraging for woodland greens. Coursing down the Konkapot River in the New Marlboro/Mill River area of Berkshire County, Massachusetts, the water is a constant drumming that fills your chest and head, and the ozone level in the air flushes your lungs. It's free and usually uncrowded. A place apart.

“questing--quiet gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2012

Take your time going through this lovely reservation. ON the surface it's just a hike in the woods. If you look closely and take your time you will see up to 10 species of butterflies, vernal pools, old cellar holes and ruins of a farmhouse, several different elevations with very different ecosystems, and an old oak tree that must be 200 years old that had its top sheared off by lightening. A special place.

“Pretty but limited”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2012

Interesting solitude, nice loop through woods and field. A little hard to get to (dirt road), and not as large as other Trustees of Reservations properties in the Berkshires.
