Description: For nearly a decade, Spiga Ristorante served fine Italian cuisine; but in October 2017, Marisa Iocco—iconic Boston restaurateur (and the city's first and only #ExecutiveGirlChef from Italy)—transformed Spiga from satisfying to sublime, in ways diners never dreamed. Nestled in a corner of Boston’s metro-West area where four towns touch cheeks, Spiga serves stunning recreations and interpretations of regional cuisine as authentically Italian as its owners. Its lunch and dinner menus revere artisanal ingredients that illuminate Iocco’s collection of whimsical Italian recipes that honor hers and co-owner Carmelo Iriti’s heritage, and they highlight Iocco’s ability to balance flavors and textures. Spiga's dining room is sensuously cozy: Wood-adorned with sexy luxe touches that sparkle and shine, it's perfect for enjoying little-known dishes from the Abruzzo and Calabria: guazzetti (bowls of simmered stews of meat, fish); cicchetti (Italian tapas); and a robust pasta menu.

The lunch menu goes from pizza to paninni to pasta entrees. The special risotto was very good (small shrimp, clams, and mussels) in a red sauced rice. The generous panninis were overly crusty, making them challenging to eat. The dining room is small, but very nice and not overly crowded. The room has no steps up, so it's easy ground access for the handicapped, with rest rooms on the same level. And plenty of parking in the lot outside. I understand that they are accomodating to large groups. They had hosted a party of 16 for an early lunch before our arrival. Very good service.

Lunch was spectacular, with great food, and the service was impeccable. We had a variety of meals from Risotto, Pasta to Pizza all served at the same time. Our server could not do enough to accommodate the specific dietary needs of one of our party. The server even came back and discussed the various ingredients in the soup to make sure there would not be a problem.

I will be a regular here.

Out on errands with a friend, we stumbled upon this charming eatery. Lunch service on a Friday was steady and we were seated quickly. I agree with previous reviewer that the spacing between tables was ideal, and made it a pleasure to converse. We both ordered the chef's special; spinach mushroom risotto which was served piping hot (as was my delicious cup of coffee). I rarely finish "American" sized portions (which equal at least 2 European) and so I would say that there was plenty for a full sized "American" meal, but not so much that you could take home food for another full meal. What a nice change. My only critique was that the server did not refill my coffee (or ask). We paid $50 for two with tip for lunch. Not a scenic location, but very nice ambiance and I would guess the bar is a great place to sit and enjoy a meal if tables are full. Not the type of spot to push the pace of your meal - who would want to? Linger a bit.

The several times I've been here with colleagues, the food has been consistently good. We always make reservations and haven't had to wait for a table. The service can be slow but it's always friendly. Probably not the best pick if you need a quick meal.

I've tried the gnocchi and cavatelli as well as a calamari salad and all were well prepared. The portions are modest but enough to fill you up.

Walk-in deuce told they were full. Said we could sit at bar behind a 12-top business group. Usually at bar, you get attention -- not.

We ordered IMMEDIATELY and specifically asked to get the entre in before the group. They did but compromised on quality.

Had to wave everyone down for everything.

Excellent wine selection by bartender.

They just need to pull it together -- pay attention.
