We had a great time at Lookout Farm. Went to pick some apples (got a ton of ripe Gala and Macintosh) as well as some Asian Pears. It seems like there are a lot of harsh reviews on here of this place. It is more expensive, as they charge admission price, but if you have young kids I think it's a fun time. Our three year old was in heaven. Between riding on the little train, picking her own fruit, and hanging out in play area with the animals, she was smiling from ear to ear the entire time. We got there around 10:30am and it was almost 2pm by the time we left. The morning flew by and we were all happy with the experience. Is it cheaper to buy your apples at the store......yep. But that wasn't the reason we were going apple picking. We just wanted a fun family day and that is exactly what we had. Will definitely go back again.

The orchards, groves, and views are great, especially on one of those beautiful New England fall days. At the right time of year, the fruit picking is also worth it. But the staff is not always helpful, and the price is a little steep, especially as a family excursion. It seems better as a couples date. Go on a weekday if you can, so you'll get more attention from the staff.

I ventured out to Lookout Farm back in June when they had a 'free' day. The only part of the
experience I liked was the wagon ride through the orchards. The play area for kids needs so
much work. I wouldn't go on at a regular time because of the expense. Staff was very helpful, however.

Has p[potential but needs better mgmt. The site is pretty and the orchards are extensive. However, the staff is less than helpful and you find yourself on your own in the orchards, looking for directions or waiting for the "train" to bring you back with your pickings. It is close in to metrowest customers, so that may be a draw; but I'd go a little further out towards Harvard (the town, not the school) or Stow or Berlin to get a better experience.

Yesterday Lookout Farm was a lovely and peaceful place with manicured orchards and magnificant grape arbors. Amazing pumpkin patch. More a botanical garden than a tourist spot. Weekday. Senior discount. Great choice for a play date of two little 2 1/2 year old girls. Enough action without being overwhelming. When we saw the banks of cash registers we knew it must be nuts on the weekends. Are the apple prices high? Yes, outrageous. But I've never seen pathways covered in such grape arbors and so many kinds of peach and plum trees all labeled. A good place for speciality fruit picking in season.
