My wife and I like to order corned beef on rye and pastrami on rye for lunch and share the halves. In our first trip to Zaftig's, the corned beef was a bit chewy and the pastrami was just ok. We decided to give them a second chance and things were much worse. The corned beef was so chewy, it had to be removed from the mouth. The pastrami was only slightly better. We are not complainers who send food back. Restaurants need to get it right the first time. We will simply never go back. This place wouldn't last 5 minutes in New York! Rubin's Deli in Brookline always served superior sandwiches; we have never been disappointed in their food.
