“Great Room!”
Reviewed April 24, 2008

Bunked out here for one night while on a college visit marathon. Our room was awesome! Large and airy w/a sort of modern, art deco feel -- but oh so classy! An attached sitting room with a sofa sectional (!!) just screamed "come recline on me." Our huge flat panel television got crystal clear reception, and our laptop internet access was immediate and seamless. Thoughtfully placed outlets were convenient for two gals on a mission and all their gear, and we appreciated having the mirror and sink combo outside of the toilet/tub bathroom. The room was safe and secure as was the underground (free) parking.

Free fresh fruit for the plucking in the lobby was a real treat. The baked goods showcase at the check-in desk had a "Starbuck-sy" look and was positively sinful. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient, making check-in and check-out a breeze. We were bummed that we didn't get to sample the breakfast buffet as we had an early morning next-day flight.

The hotel was a little difficult to find using mapquest, but is actually very conveniently located to major arteries. Would definitely stay again, and wholeheartedly recommend.

We moved here in a pinch from a horrible experience at the Days Inn. What a great place! Our room was huge, so big that we actually enjoyed just relaxing in there. Everything in the room and hotel was clean and nice. This is a great place for a family to stay. My husband and I were travelling with our teenage son to visit Harvard. This room was ideal for us and our only regret was not finding it sooner! I would absolutely stay here again. It is way under-priced in comparison to other hotels of similiar caliber in the area. My son doesn't want to leave!

We had a power emergency at home in the dead of winter and the part was going to take two days to get here and installed so we needed last minutee accommodation and hopped on the Hyatt site and found this for under $100 a night.

Hip styles throughout the property. Check-in was friendly and on the spot. The room was great with a separate sitting area with a couch you could easily re-configure. In the room a tremendous plasma tv and a very comfortable bed. The wet bar had a small refrig which was a nice touch.

They offer a free continental breakfast which was to the nines! You can order for an additional cost from an extended menu. In fact the menu is available for all three meals.

Covered parking under the hotel was a nice touch as during our three day stay there was a large snow storm and I did not have to shovel out the car!!

  • Liked — free breakfast, covered parking
  • Disliked — Nothing!

Staying here on a college shopping visit to see Tufts and BU. The hotel is modern and well furnished. The big problem is it promises a shuttle service to the nearby T stops and Tufts but it took so long to actually get the shuttle from the hotel that we almost missed our appointment at Tufts. It wasn't until I complained to the manager that we and a couple other guests had been waiting to leave the hotel for 40 minutes for the quick ride to Tufts that a second shuttle was activated. What's worse is that we called the shuttle for a pick-up in nearby Davis Square and we're told it would be 12-15 minutes for it to show up. Another 40 minutes later we ended up taking a cab. From our experience the shuttle service just does not work well. If your decision to stay at this otherwise OK hotel is based on the convenience of the shuttle to the T stations and Tufts, choose another hotel.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and we were very pleased. We had stayed at this same hotel when it was Amerisuites, the change over was needed, LOVED the plasma wide screen TV, nice upgrade. Nice comfy bed and free wi fi, close to Boston and right off I-93, only complaint was the free access to computers in the business center. There was no door to this room and I found it hard to get on line as people that clearly were not staying at this hotel were using the computers (walked in off the street). They need to have key access only for Hyatt guests. The free underground parking garage was nice. We plan to book here again for our next trip to Boston.

  • Liked — location to Boston, plasma TV
  • Disliked — non hotel guests useing computers in business center

We enjoyed our weekend stay at the Hyatt Place in Medford Mass. The newly redecorated suite was huge with a 40 or 50 inch flat screen high def. TV. The weekend rates are low for a hotel this close to downtown Boston. And the included breakfast was nice. The only negative is the traffic noise but it's not loud. Rooms with a low number are more distant from I 93.

We got a great rate on hotwire (3 star-medford/somerville) and the hotel was awesome. Super nice staff, large beautiful rooms, 42 inch flat screen HD TV, sectional sofa, fridge, etc....

We stayed there for a night out in Boston. They have free parking and a free shuttle to the T until 9PM. We took a cab back for $25 from downtown. It was much cheaper than the downtown hotels where you have to pay high rates + $40 bucks a day for parking.
