The bowling alley at Maspee Commons delivers lots of fun with King's type bowling alley and very good food and drink at their adjoining restaurant

I live locally and have bowled and eaten at The Lanes several times. It was a much needed venue for the area and my kids have enjoyed the bowling. It's clean and has a good atmosphere. The food overall is very good. They offer a great deal on 'family night' during the off season. My biggest complaint is the inconsistency this place presents with its waitstaff and bartenders. Most times they are pleasant and friendly, however there have been enough times I've experienced rudeness and disrespect, which has prompted me to write a review. The servers are not all knowledgeable about the menu and I've been served terrible/wrong drinks on multiple occasions. Not sure if the staff are all rookies but better training is needed then.
Overall it's a nice place to go for kids and adults but I can only give it 3 stars because of too many misses.

We went on a rainy day for bowling...we were totally fine with the two hour wait for a lane, the bowling itself was a fun family activity. They also offer waiter service at your lane..part of the draw of the place...you only have the lane for an hour so things should move fast, unfortunately our server was really slow and inattentive. She came around once for an initial order but it seemed like it was an inconvenence. When they brought our apps, they brought no napkins or small plates and our waitress was no where to be found so we went to the hostess stain to ask for napkins. She never offered refills on our drinks and dropped the check off with 15 mins left on our game staying we only had 15 min left so she would just leave this here..I may have ordered more but again seemed like an inconvinence. When our bowling time ended we waited for a bit but she never returned we again took our check to the hostess station to cash out..she then magically appeared..we had thought about staying there for dinner but passed due to the lack of service and there were staff around so I am not sure why the issues. Appetizers were good but bad service puts this one low on the list.

What an unexpected find.
Went on a saturday nite around 9 and there was no waiting.
A great place to bowl a few games and then enjoy some of the great local music they have playing there on the weekends.
Have a nice outdoor patio area with plenty of seating and even a corn hole game set up outside.
Great atmosphere, very friendly attentive staff and a great time.
They have prices per game or by the hour.
A BIG HIT was the very clean rental shoes!!! Lol
They had a great selection on the menu altho we did not eat anything the lanes next to us enjoyed quite a few of the snack platters which looked very appetizing. They also serve beer which is always a plus on the cape. :)

Unexpected great find.

Can rent lanes by the game or the hour. Happy to see clean rental shoes as well :)
Have a nice bar area with outside seating.
Lots of great live music.

Attentive servers and a nice menu.
Fun friendly staff.
