“Great Bar, Atmosphere, Drinks Staff and Food”
Reviewed April 26, 2014

We've been coming to the Wildwood for years, and although we liked the old deco, the new is very good as well and quite interesting. The main thing is that the good food & drinks, congenial atmosphere, and nice staff are still in evidence. We usually patronize the bar, but when we have company etc., we utilize the dining room, and in either case we're never disappointed. Great food, service and fair pricing are always the case, so we go there ourselves often and bring friends and visitors to the area there quite frequently. All of the staff are professional and friendly and particularly Andrew, who lends some Southern style service qualities to the overall ambiance. A GREAT place for a nice evening, plus parking is never a problem.

“Decent food, newly renovated”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

I'd give this a 3-1/2 rating, if there were one. Sometimes it's closer to a 4.
I've been to Wildwood many times over the years. I've eaten in both the restaurant and the bar, which will serve from the big menu or a smaller, bar menu. It's a big restaurant, does functions, the noise level can be high. It's good for business meetings, family dinner, a casual date.
Obviously, the main item on the menu is steak, which they do well; also, burgers. But they also have a fair, seafood selection. Not fancy food, but decent portions and usually well-prepared.
Salads are very good. I on't know whether they still come out with a small, warm loaf of bread with dinner: they used to, and that was pretty good.
Service is generally attentive and they can handle large volume. Service at the bar is very good.
Used to get take-out burgers pretty often because they're good.

“Inconsistent”
Reviewed March 31, 2014 via mobile

Having lived in Marlborough for seventeen years, we have been to the Wildwood several times, both before and after the latest renovation. Overall we feel the quality was better prior to the re-open. Steaks are usually good - but they have to be when "Steakhouse" is part of your name. Rest of the entree items are inconsistent, so much so that we find ourselves sitting in the lounge and ordering apps, salads and raw bar. My wife enjoys the sonoma salad and I'm partial to the spinach salad with salmon. Raw bar has nice selections and has always been fresh.

Bartenders are skilled, engaging and work hard to make sure patrons are never parched. Unfortunately we don't sense the same commitment from ownership. We get the feeling they think all they have to do is turn on the lights and people will show up.

“lifetime Marlboro Resident”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

The Wildwood was one of our favorite restaurants for years. Since their renovations a few years back, we have found that the food quality has dropped off drasticly. The Wildwood sirloin is a great piece of meat, but lacks flavor. The ribs are a dry rub that tastes like reheated ribs with barbeque sauce over it. We went again last night to give it one last try. I had the shrinp scampi with tomatoes and spinach. The shrimp were not scampi, but grilled. The linquine was under cooked and very starchy. there was not a hint of garlic or flavor. After half a shaker of salt and two bites. I left the rest on my plate. My wife often says I'm to picky, but after tasting it she agreed. Another person in our party had the special, Mahi Mahi. She also said it was very bland. Sorry Jerry, 3 strikes and your out. Time to check your Chef.

“Usually excellent”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Best Caesar salad I've ever tasted. We go there regularly and most of the time it is excellent. Every now and then it is not. The chocolate cake on the desert menu is unbelievably huge - would feed 4+ and delicious. Prime Rib and lamb are always delicious. We go there regularly.
