Good food, great view, funky service. We had a great lunch but the server didn't seem enthusiastic about her job.

“We were disappointed”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Called in on a really hot afternoon with a view to check the place over while we rehydrated after our walk to Fort Sewall. Our plan had been to look at the venue & menu & possibly return that evening. We received a cool reception from the bar-flies (that was ok I guess everyone gets fed up with summer visitors invading their space), but what really let it down was the request for two large soda & limes - the bar man pulled out two 16oz glasses then changed his mind & got two smaller plastic cups out, threw quarter of lime into one which missed so was manhandled & from the bar & chucked back in - then shortchanged me on a $20 bill. I was too hot and dismayed to challenge it, but if this is the general standard which tourists receive, it is not for us and we wont be going back.

“Quintessential place- you gotta eat there”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Great bar, great bartender who jumps over the bar over and over, great dining area, the outdoor part overlooks sea, super fresh seafood. And THE BEST LOBSTER ROLL I HAVE EVER HAD. That lobster had just been steamed and pulled from the shell, and freshly put on my roll with chopped celery (etc). Best I ever had. (also the most expensive: $20.)

“Lobster roll”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

Interesting lobster roll..good, but made mostly with claw meat. Bell peppers were an unusual touch. Outside seating overlooking this working harbor was most appreciated. A return visit for sure

“Good lunch spot”
Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

We sat outside on the water for our lunch at the barnacle. Delicious lobster rolls! The bowl of clam chowder was the best we had in our time out east. Our non- seafood eaters enjoyed their chicken sandwiches. Great restaurant for outdoor seating, fresh, local seafood, and good value!
