I have stayed for short stays several time at this campground just to have my kids and grandkids up to use the heated pool. While the amenities are few, the store is well-stocked, there's a nice playground for the little ones, a game room and that heated pool is excellent. There are limited sites that can access satellite, however many sites do have cable hookups and all have free wi-fi access, which is important to me.

The rest rooms and showers are immaculate !!!!

If you're looking for well-wooded and shaded lots, this is the place. I love that it's local to me.

We stayed in a cabin, and we're very pleased by how clean it was. The bathrooms at the campground were extremely clean also! The staff was so friendly! It was quiet at night with no disturbances so that made our trip much more pleasurable! Thank you Minuteman Campground for such a nice place! We will definitely stay again!!

We tried this campground for a last minute 5 day camping trip with friends over 4th of July based on reviews here and were very pleasantly surprised. The campground is smaller than some that we have stayed in but we really liked it. The facilities and campground itself were one of the cleanest and best kept I have seen in a long time and the staff was beyond friendly and responsive...WELL DONE! The kids had a great time in the pool (crystal clear and warm so you could truly enjoy it!) and the TV room and game room were well thought out and used quite a bit from what I could see while walking around with the dogs and kids. I had one small issue with the showers starting to back up while there and before I even finished telling the staff at the front desk one staff member was running to check it out and they were apologizing profusely.

If you are looking for a relaxing get away this is the place for you. Very laid back and quiet even with as many kids as there were in the campground while we were there. We will be back!!

Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you, again, for bringing the water issue to our attention so we could fix it promptly. We can't know about a problem like that unless someone tells us so we really appreciate you coming into the store to let us know. We hope to see you again soon!

I am writing this as I sit at my campsite near the end of my week long stay. We've been to many campgrounds varying from rustic to resorts... this is the perfect middle ground. There is a pool, laundry, some sports areas, but no loud or other organized activities. The owners take good care of the property and all our utilities were in good working order. The sites range from partial to full shade so you don't bake inside your RV or tent. One nice touch - fireplaces all made from natural stones. Some sites are small for big rigs. Our site was a perfect size. Most have gravel pads and bare ground or a small amount of grass or forest floor on the side. Sites have been well leveled. Bathrooms and pool are a short walk from everywhere, and bathrooms are amazingly clean with large showers with dressing areas.

There is a rec hall with an open game room and a closed sitting room with TV where you can have a movie turned on. Firewood was pricey at $4.75 a bundle.. since you cannot transport it any more that's unfortunate and we did not see much alternative in the area. Each bundle made a small fire for a few hours in the evening so we managed... but if you like large fires go looking for a better price.

All in all this was a great place to explore Boston and New England with many day trips possible - In addition to Boston it's less than 2 hours to Kittery/York/Ogunquit Maine, Hampton and Portsmouth NH, and in MA - Newburyport, Salem, Gloucester, Rockport, Plymouth, and of course Concord, Lexington and Boston.

To Visit Boston from here: Drive down Route 2 all the until it ends, at Alewife Station. $7 parking per day in the garage and a 20 minute red line ride to Boston. Get a 1 day pass from the machine to make it easy to zip around Boston.

Room Tip: Specify your camper size carefully and indicate if you want some sun or all shade... or if you prefe...

Thank you for such a thorough and thoughtful review - I am very happy to hear you had a nice stay! I understand your qualm regarding the firewood. We do try to maintain competitive pricing and, knowing that wood cannot be brought in from outside the campground, we are modest in our markup. We would allow outside wood from other areas but, as you may have heard, hundreds of acres of trees have been destroyed in this area by non-native insects brought in from other parts of the country and we just can't risk losing all our trees. Your feedback is very helpful and appreciated. We hope to see you again soon!

Our experience at the BMC was just fine. We had no difficulty with our reservation and, since we knew in advance the rate, I don't see where there is any complaint here. There are staff frequenting the areas, all of which were clean, tidy and well maintained. The setting is lovely with a mass of very tall pine tress all of which were well groomed. I wold not describe the pool as small but it was loaded with children every time I passed. This was not an issue for us, we have no children and their presence at the pool made for a quiet camp site. All staff were encountered were very, very friendly and helpful. Lurking around? Not anywhere we saw and we were camped at BMC for 6 nights while we explored Boston.

The campground maps and information were some of THE BEST I've ever seen anywhere. These were much appreciated. some of the sites are very small. If you book, request a large site. It is a very large campground and was very crowded.

Stayed three nights. Didn't use the amenities as we were golfing, visiting family and in Boston. Just came to sleep. It was very peaceful and had a nice old campground feel which some have lost.
