Booked graduation lunch for 5 two weeks in advance. Required pre-selection of menu. Food arrived one and a half hours after being seated with our parties' entrees staggered 15 minutes apart. Service poor. Felt ignored.
Food cold, and extremely mediocre-even salads! Completely disorganized operation. Anything but enjoyable and relaxing.

I was surprised to see the poor ratings for Lexx. We live in Lexington, and this restaurant is the favorite of the entire family, including our 18 and 20 year old kids. We've had a variety of meals and have never had a bad one. My daughter's favorite is the Pork Osso Buco, which is a huge helping of the most tender pork, with great apple and bacon flavors. My husband usually has one of the 2 salmon dishes and loves them both. My son has tried and loved several dishes, including the hamburger and the steak tips. I also love the pork, the steak tips, and the braised beef.

We've never had bad service. They don't rush you through, but are available when you need something. Only once they weren't ready with our reservation, and were extremely apologetic and gave us a free hummus appetizer, which was excellent.

The couple times I've been there for lunch I felt the prices were a bit high for what you get, but this will remain our family's choice for any celebrations.

don't waste your time - the only thing worse than the bland food is the slow and sometimes downright rude service - Not Your Average Joe's down the street is even better...

Good salads, sandwiches, desserts...and that's about it!

I really want to like this place, but I keep running into bad recipes. That's really where they fall short. The place is very attractive, bustles with a lively crowd of diners and a cool bar scene, great location, and interesting menu selections.

But once you get the food in front of you, the disappointments begin. I've had a good lunch there a couple of times (salads, sandwiches), but dinner has real problems. Shrimp Jambalaya seemed like frozen food from a bag (although I'm sure it wasn't!), but it was dull, ungarnished, and uninspired. Braised beef was horribly oversalted and my companion left the side vegetables untouched. On another occasion, I tried the grilled meatloaf, ordering classic mashed potatoes and sweet peas as side dishes. It sounded like a safe bet. The meatloaf arrived with a mushroom gravy that was so salty I had to scrape it off immediately, and even then found it had left its mark. Under the sauce, the meatloaf had been crisped up and had become too dry. The mashed potatoes were stiff and lumpy, the peas had odd seasonings stir-fried into them which didn't match the other flavors on the plate. I ate a few bites of everything and then just stopped -- it was all really pretty unappealing. Other elements in the meal were fine: an appetizer hummus plate with nicely toasted bread and a mild, creamy spread; delicious daily soups on more than one occasion, good salad plates, fine desserts (bread pudding, chocolate cookie sundae, profiteroles -- a high proportion of chocolate desserts). But the main event, the entree, was disappointing both for me and several of my companions on more than one occasion. Even by ordering the "safe" and traditional meatloaf dish, I couldn't find a winner. A daily special of Moroccan vegetables and rice had been presented as a beef dish, but turned out to be vegetarian. It was ok, but again, had that plain, boil-in-a-bag quality that had affected the jambalaya preparation. I really want to like this stylish and lively place, but paying full prices for such repeated disappointments makes no sense. The color photos on their website are gorgeous, but don't look like the kinds of things we were served, which were presented plain on white dishes.
