“relax and family-oriented”
Reviewed July 8, 2010

0. Overall - Love it, very family oriented, great location and great people. I will consider staying in this chain in the future.

1. location - garden setting, very quiet and relaxing, 1/2 mile away from national park. 30 minutes drive to Boston/Cambridge.

2. room - we stayed at a 1 bedroom suite, not huge but reasonable size, and compensated by very efficient/nice furniture.

3. breakfast - healthy selections.

4. people - very nice staffs, with customer first mind

5. other facilities - not your average swimming pool (with salt system instead of chemicals) - have to try to like it.

This hotel, located just across the street from the Minute Man National Park, is perfect. Each room feels like an apartment with full desk, full kitchen and huge bathrooms. The beds are perfect. There isn't anything they haven't though of. As a traveling family, we really loved this place! The staff is very helpful and caters to every request (pizza, laundry, etc.). They have a happy hour with good appetizers & wine/beer (not the cheap stuff of usual freebee's) and a full breakfast -included! WOW. They even had a huge bar-b-q that guests can use. The common areas are actually used (tables, couches, books) and the guests are encouraged to mingle, kids play together. They have a 24 hour pantry that had fresh food like salads and yogurt, drinks and treats. They even had mac n' cheese for hungry little people. Their pool is tiny, but it fronts a nice grass area & patio that Mom/Dad can sit with a glass of wine while kiddo's swim their hearts out - the kids didn't care that the pool was small. Free bikes for use rounded out a perfect stay. If we need to come back to this town, we'll definately stay here.

Not much to eat around here though, so go to the market ahead of time and fix your food at the hotel.

My wife, my 10 year old grandson and I just returned from a 4 day trip around 3 New England states. We had some great experiences but, when asked, my grandson says that staying at The Element was the highlight of his vacation. Even though we were only there for one night, it is in fact an extended stay hotel. There is a more traditional hotel across the parking lot. We had brought tsome food from home for the first day of our trip and were able to eat comfortably in the room because of a full kitchen (all but a tradional oven). Setting the kitchen aside, it was a comfortable room and a spacious bathroom.,,a Scandavian look to it. It is located a short walk from the Battle Road between Lexington and Concord MA. We have already recommended the hotel to friends and family and plan on returning for a long weekend.

I really enjoyed our stay here. We got here on Wed. and just in time for the complimentary cookout, cooked by the Manager Chris, that included steak tips and chicken with potato salad, corn on the cob to include beer and wine. We booked our stay through Hotels.com and their site said nothing about this or the free breakfast that they said did not come with our reservation but did and was fanastic that came with our room with lots of healthy choices. Arthur, the breakfast buffet host was very personable and worked diligently to make sure everyone got what they needed.
Our room was comfortable and clean. The suite with the separate room worked perfect for my wife and I with our teenage daughter. Will most assuredly stay here again and bring our dog also.

We were 2 adults and 2 children when we checked in.The young lady that greeted us was very friendly and smiling the whole time. She said that the room with 2 queen beds was not ready but that she would call us when it was. This is when her supervisor interrupted her and whispered that since we booked "with a third party" we would have to take the room with one bed plus a sofa bed.The friendly young lady tried to help us and whispered to her supervisor that there were rooms available with 2 beds but her supervisor told her not to give it to us. I saw this supervisor(blond with glasses, did not get her name) for 3 days and she never smiled to guests, avoided people and was simply miserable. She obviously should not be working with the public.I wanted to tell her what I thought of her but did not see her at check out.Nice hotel, good location, great breakfast but stay ruined by this one employee.Would go back but hope she is gone.

I stayed at the Aloft Hotel 4 times last year, and the Element is the "sister" property, just behind the Aloft. A special offer of $95 per night tempted me to try the Element and I was "wowed"! While both hotels are super modern, and very utilitarian in decor, the Element offers incredible amenities for the price. The king studio suite has a bigger sectional sofa that I could ever use at home! The full kitchen is so convenient and I especially appreciated the full size refrigerator as I stock up on Trader Joe's groceries, which is one of the reasons I drive down from Maine occasionally. Other reviewers have listed the amenites, so I won't do so, item by item. Suffice to say, a room in this hotel will surely cover all your basic needs.
Pros: quiet rooms, accepts dogs, very clean, everything on hand that you could want.
No cons at all really, just be prepared for Spartan decor and everything in earth tone shades of brown (sort of a "Soviet" lack of color in my mind). There is no bar at the Element, but you can always walk across the parking lot to the "XYZ Bar" at the Aloft. However, with a comfortable room, and beverages available for sale at the Element, plus the ability to keep things cold, you can have a great relaxed after-dinner drink in your room! I would stay here again whenever room rates are attractive.

Contemporary is the opposite of our preferred style, but the Element has thoughtfully created a serene, uncluttered atmosphere, which made our stay easy and enjoyable. The bed truly is "heavenly". There was a full sized refrigerator, 2 burner stove, microwave, single cup coffee maker, dishes, utensils, pans, closet space, a safe, desk area, large flat screen swivel TV, plug ins for all electronics convenient to the TV & desk area as well as plenty of electrical outlets around the suite, free wi-fi, desk w/super comfortable chair, seating area for visiting. Bathroom was tiled, nicely lit, green flush. Building is LEED certified. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh offerings, smoothies, boiled eggs, breakfast wraps, pastries, juice, fresh fruit, good coffee, cereal and other daily options. Also convenient: laundry, fitness room, pool (was closed for service), small "store", wii and very pleasant, spacious, seating area as you enter. Service was very pleasant and helpful. Location was perfect for our purpose.
We celebrated our anniversary, as well as attended many of the historic reenactments in the area. Friends joined us and stayed in the next room, and had a very pleasant stay as well.
