“Poor Management”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

I spend more nights at this hotel than I do at home. Having said that, if its location wasn't so close to my office, I wouldn't stay a night.

The carelessness of management on customers, on maintenance and consistent failure to even deliver on basic repairs makes this hotel hard to rate beyond poor. On the positive side, I would compliment the friendly kitchen staff and maybe 1 or 2 staff from the front desk.

Recently stayed here on a weekend trip to Boston. The hotel is right off the highway and easy to find. Center of lexington is only a few minutes drive and has plenty of restaurants and stores. The hotel is very clean. Rooms are equipped with a full kitchen which we found well furnished and clean. Not the most spacious room ever but clean and comfortable. The beds are extremely comfortable and the included hot breakfast is good. This was my first stay at an Element hotel but will not be my last.

I reviewed this hotel several year ago and it was not a happy review. I am pleased to write that this stay was wonderful and great improvements have been made, particularly in the training of the staff and their positive interaction with customers. They were superb.
The rooms are immaculate as is the whole bldg. Staff really works at cleaning...I watched them after breakfast...very thorough and great attention to detail.
Front desk was responsive to my request for 2 beds and room was really nice..we enjoyed it. Takes an engineering degree to work that wonderful waterfall shower but enjoyed it anyway.
We were late for breakfast BUT Arthur in the kitchen dear man, brought delicious morsel after delicious morsel out to us making a lost breakfast into a grand one with smiles. Staff helpful with computer and all around accommodating, quiet, gracious and helpful. I recommend this hotel strongly particularly if you like contemporary design... .

Room Tip: Ask for what you want and if they have it they will give it to you.

Aside from all the "green" initiatives that this hotel does, which is a great deal, it's also a very comfortable and nice place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and all the amenities were top notch.

Complimentary breakfast was tasty and varied from day to day.

Location is perfect as a base on the west side of town, for business, tourism, or visits to Boston-area colleges. Easy access and close to the freeway but far enough away so you don't hear or see the traffic. Lexington is close by, with several good restaurant options. Nothing is within walking distance, though, and you do need a car.

Our room and the common areas were clean, although the furniture is starting to wear -- veneers are scratched and damaged; sofas are a little tired. I really dislike the shampoo and soap dispensers in the bathroom instead of individual packaging. The chain seems to cut every corner it can. (some of this is 'eco-friendly'; some of it is just being cheap.) This ain't a Westin or a W., so don't expect one.

But lower your expectations a notch or two, and it's pretty good. Free breakfasts are generous, with many healthy options, and the courtyard is a pleasant place to sit when the weather is good. The fitness center was more than adequate, and clean. Staff really friendly and helpful. I don't love the Element brand, but this property is a solid, safe, and predictable choice in the area, and I will likely stay here again.

This was a terrific hotel with a full kitchen and microwave. Very modern decor. LEED certified building. Complimentary breakfast that was more than scrambled eggs and sausage. There was a manager's special every night with beer, wine, and soft drinks and an appetizer. Very friendly. Very clean. Right off the highway

When one thinks of an eco-Hotel, immediately, one has images of a 70s commune, you know the kind where you conserve water and spend time picking lice out of each other's hair and having communal everything. This is NOT the case with this hotel.

From the moment, my family and I entered on that rainy afternoon in August, we were very impressed. The hotel lobby was bright and cheerful with lots of comfortable couches and tables to sit on. This hotel is better than a lot of hotels that I have stayed in, ie. Mariott and Hilton.

Check-in was quite quick and friendly.
They had a marketplace for anything you had forgotten and for food and they had wine.
The hotel was conveniently located close to a pharmacy and plenty of restaurants and is very private.

The swimming pool was cold but though. It took a minute or two to warm up.

The room was WOW!!!! On one side, you had large closets and a full kitchen.
Lots of power plugs for all our electronics and laptops.

The bathroom was on the other side and it was also bright and cheerful.
We had three rooms but I noticed that our room was the only one with a tub, the other two were just showers.

One large couch and lots of lighting. I believe that they were all fluorescent, but it gave the room a lot of light.

The beds were extremely comfortable and the TV was an flat screen LCD.

I am very impressed and will definitely stay again.

Dear amlee17,
We really appreciate your review, thanks for sharing! We're delighted that you and your family enjoyed your experience and eco-friendly features at Element. Per your comment, we use compact fluorescent light bulbs that give off a soothing glow while using 75% less energy than a normal light bulb. We hope you'll come back to see us on your next trip to Lexington and perhaps experience an Element relax evening reception too. Take care!
