Aloft is located across the parking lot from Element in Lexington. While both hotels are well-appointed and modern, Aloft has a very different atmosphere. As soon you enter the spacious lobby you are surrounded by modern functional design. The well-appointed seating areas provide a comfortable place to work or relax and they flow naturally into the bar area which is open evenings. The bar serves upscale pub food, which is adequate for a casual meal. Aloft boasts a salt water swimming pool which is very relaxing, so don't miss it. The rooms are pretty basic with a comfortable bed, bench under the television and desk with desk chair. As far as I was concerned, there was only one flaw; there wasn't any comfortable place to sit to watch TV. You either have to sit on the hard desk chair or on the bed. Neither is very comfortable for long periods, especially if you have a back problem. The bathroom was perfectly adequate, with a nice shower. The rooms are definitely not intended for extended stays, so I would suggest staying at Element if you are planning to stay more than a couple of days.
