My husband and I spent three nights at the Yankee Inn for a quick getaway in Sept and found the place to be clean, comfortable and well kept. We stayed in the main building, which is hotel style so cost a bit more than those in the south building, which is motel style. As other reviews had said, the hotel is not fancy or extravagant but it is a good alternative if you don't want to stay in motels or expensive B&Bs. The rate includes a decent continental breakfast. The Inn is located in central Berkshires so easy access to nearby towns such as Stockbridge, Lenox and others. We would stay here again.

The staff was very accommodating--offered (without being asked) to open the outdoor pool up when it was closed when we wanted to swim, offered to extend the made-to-order omlette service on the weekend, etc.

The hotel was clean, quiet, and well-kept. It was nothing extravagant, but perfect for our needs and the pool facilities were well done as well.

We had a family reunion at the Yankee Inn. Dealing with the manager was a pleasure; he was very accomodating, even of a last minute change in the number of rooms. The rest of the staff was also friendly and cordial. We had the use of the breakfast room for our dinners; no one pushed us out even when we stayed there quite late one night. The hotel rooms are spacious, very clean and nicely furnished, some looking out on a pleasant view of mountains, meadow and pond. Having such pleasant accomodations added to the fun of the event. We chose this hotel because we had been there before; we will certainly return.

Room Tip: Nice mountain views are from rooms facing the back.

We choose this hotel because it was close to the things we wanted to do on our 2 day mini vacation. The front desk staff was friendly and they made sure we were familiar with the area. We stayed in the main building on the second floor facing the back. We had a room with a king bed and the balcony was a nice bonus. The room was clean and roomy. Our favorite part of the room was the pillows on the bed. Both my husband and I had great nights sleep and we attribute that to the pillows. The breakfast room was on our floor which made it very convenient in the morning to just walk down the hall to breakfast. There was a nice variety of food and beverages.
The one thing we did find upon coming back to the hotel at night was the lack of parking. The hotel was full both nights we stayed and we had to park in an area that didn't have parking spaces marked out so we didn't know if that was part of their property or not. The lighting in the area was good so we weren't concerned with our safety.
The other thing I would comment on was not having high speed internet in the rooms. They have dial-up that is available in the lobby for your laptops and they also have computers available to use in the lobby.
I would also recommend going to both Mt. Greylock and Tanglewood. Mt. Greylock gives you beautiful views of the area whether you drive to the top or take advantage of the hiking trails and Tanglewood was a great place to enjoy the music of the BSO.

Only here one night on our way back to Boston from Niagara Falls. After staying the gorgeous Canadian Marriott at Niagara Falls, we had to remind our kids (who love hotels) that this was not going to be the same. I was pleasantly surprised by the room itself: Nice bedding, large enough fridge, big bathroom (very clean). Was totally grossed out by the enormous stain on the desk chair. Even my husband, who will pretty much poo-poos all stains, dirt, etc. was grossed out. It might have only been a water mark, but boy was it gross! The pools were nice, the hot tub awesome, the "gym" is only three machines. Continental breakfast is dull, and the use of styrofoam plates/cups/bowls is just WRONG. Paper is better, at least it will biodegrade in our lifetime. PLEASE CHANGE THIS NOW!!!!

Slept very well because the air conditioner was so loud we could not hear anything else around us!

Not sure we would come back, in the end it seemed a little pricey for what we got.

After booking with Expedia, we had some major problems. The room was no where near as big as promised. The manager, Larry, was wonderful and went above and beyond to help us out and save our weekend. We will never book with Expedia again. They were terrible to deal with and could have cared less about making things right.

We stayed in the main house, in a room with two queen beds. For a family of four that needed a way point after a 380 drive, the hotel's pool and hot tub were appreciated. Access to the restaurants of Lenox was a plus.

The Inn seems tired and there was a big stain on a piece of furniture.

Not a luxury hotel, but were not expecting one.
