“A Lovely B&B”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

It is important to say at the outset that I would absolutely want to stay at this Inn again. The Innkeeper Stan is a gentleman - kind and welcoming - and he is running a stellar property that is ideally located in the heart of Lenox. We had a lovely two night stay there and would recommend it to anyone coming to the area.

So why not a 5 rating?

There was a curious lack of attention to detail in some areas that knocked off the 5th, none of which would deter me from a return visit but which I think it might be useful to be aware of. For example, there was a shower curtain ring missing (very odd), the toilet paper holder was installed crookedly (it worked so no complaints - just a bit off), no lids were provided for the to-go coffee cups (making carrying two back to one's room a bit tricky), and in the King Room 1, there was no coffee table on which to place the cups brought back to the room - despite a couch and chair being there to sit on.

It is clear that a great deal of heart went into this Inn, and I think you'll have a wonderful stay there - we certainly did. It isn't perfect - what is? - but the imperfections in no way detract from the experience.

I have traveled to the Berkshires for work on many occasions, but I had never had the opportunity to stay overnight. Although my girlfriend and I were only there briefly, Stan and Susan made sure our trip was memorable.

From welcoming us by name, to a tour of the home, we felt like we were truly their guests. Breakfast was stellar, and Stan made several recommendations for dinner.

We will definitely be returning to the Berkshires, and to the Hampton Terrace again in near future!

We were there for a Fall weekend and felt at home right away. Owner Stan was very welcoming and quite helpful. Breakfasts were delicious and well prepared. Room was cozy and comfortable. Loved having full size fridge in hallway for the bottled water which was provided. Such a peaceful setting and a great place to unwind and relax! Looking forward to returning especially for the breakfasts.

Our first time in the Berkshires and also first time in a bed and breakfast over Columbus Day weekend and it was perfect. Stan and Susan were fantastic hosts and sent over plenty of information ahead of our arrival to make sure we knew what we could do when we arrived and where to go for lunch and dinners. The room was very nice - it was actually 2 rooms, each with a bed and TV along with a private bath/shower. Very private and quiet and it was peaceful. Breakfast was really nice and plentiful with both hot food and cereal, yogurt, fruit, breads etc. Enjoyed the living room and beautiful fireplace as well. They are located centrally - short walk to Lenox, short drive to Lee, Stockbridge, Mount Greylock and also to the Normal Rockwell museum. The foliage is all around and was stunning. Stan and Susan exceeded every hope we had. Would absolutely (and plan on) returning!

This lovely Inn, is located in quaint Lenox MA. The rooms are sweet romantic settings and the owners Stan and Susan are gracious hosts. The house is open and inviting, with a common living room, and dining area for breakfasts cooked with love by Stan and Susan. A small anti-room off of the main entry holds glasses and wine openers, and a collection of cordials that Stan warmly states that are his, but he is willing to share. We met other guests that were delightful and the house is conducive to mingling. What a wonderful weekend away!

Room Tip: Spencer or Dexter

Excellent B and B and in great location, you got to visit the berkshires in fall sometime. Stan is a great host, the bedroom, bathroom, and also common areas are kept up well. Check out the grand piano and who has been there to play it. See above for more comments

This was a great experience. Stan had sent amazing info on places to visit and where to eat prior to our visit. We relied on his tips and directions completely!
We enjoyed relaxing in front of a fire in the main Inn, meeting other guests. The King suite was a delightful surprise. Wish we had more time there, but we'll be back. It had a kitchenette, front porch, jacuzzi, robes, and a sitting area.
Breakfast was something everyone looked forward to. It was an American menu (french toast, sausages, etc),....a treat after many European breakfasts. This Inn t invites you to relax and feel at home.

Room Tip: We loved using the front parlor and bar while staying in the Main house, but were WOWED by the King...
