My husband and I spent 3 nights in Lenox at the Hampton Terrace Inn at the end of July. The location is ideal to walk to restaurants, shopping and even the Shakespeare company (take a flash light) in Lenox. It was also very convenient to Tanglewood and The Norman Rockwell Museum.
We found the room in the main house (Spencer Room) to be small but very well equipped and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The room has a small in window air conditioner and a nice jetted tub.
The buffet breakfast were good. My husband enjoyed being able to get seconds.
The common area inside was comfortable and decorated in keeping with a historic home. We also spent a good bit of time time enjoying the porch (although we would wish for some updated seating).
The rear exterior of the Inn appears to be under renovation although we did not observe any work or hear any noise during the time of our visit.
The innkeeper is attentive, available and genuinely wants to take care of his guests.
Overall I would recommend this property. But in my opinion, the overall ratings of this Inn compared to other BnB's we have stayed may be a little inflated. This is likely due to the fact that this Inn keeper is very pro-active in following up with guests via email after their visit asking to read any review prior to submission and also offering to make good on any guest concern or complaint.

Room Tip: This Inn has several different types of rooms to appeal to different needs.

It's worth noting that I have been to a TON of Bed & Breakfasts, both for business and for pleasure. This one was perfect: great facilities, lovely staff, excellent food, AMAZING location - all-in-all it was the ultimate romantic getaway, and I would love to go back.

After staying in at least five of the "leading" properties in Lenox, we are convinced that the Hampton Terrace should be rated the highest. This bed and breakfast is located close to everything in downtown Lenox and an easy walk to lots of shopping and restaurants. Stan and Judy Rosen are terrific hosts who are always nearby (unlike lots of other hosts) and always willing to lend a hand or give a tip. The grounds of the Terrace are lovely and the pool area is inviting and well-maintained. There are several lovely and large well-furnished indoor lounging areas as well as a big side porch where we ate lunch one day. We had one of the king suites and it was spacious, comfortable and kept in top shape by the helpful staff, Great bed, great shower and hot tub, with a handy refrigerator and a huge screen tv! Even plenty of parking! Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and all of the personal amenities were high quality. I am already booked for next year!

Room Tip: We really liked the king suites, each with its own hot tub, large bathroom, kitchenette with refrigerator, sink and coffee pot, and a big sofa, a king-sized bed you have to climb a ladder to get to, and a huge TV. They also have private entrances, are close to the pool and there's even a special lounge to use so you don't have to traipse through the house.

I recently stayed at the Hampton Terrace B&B and had a great experience. We stayed in the Rarus Room in the Carriage house and it was great. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi tub! The common area in the Carriage house is a great place to unwind. Our host were so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The fridge in the common area had cold water and a Keurig coffee maker was available as well, which was great to have in the morning! Stan & Susan made you feel like you were visiting their home as a friend! The main house was open to us and it was a beautiful place! The heated pool was fantastic and was open 24 hours a day. We enjoyed a night swim! I would recommend staying here and hope to get back again!

We stayed at the Hampton Terrace while attending a workshop at Kripalu and it could not have been more enjoyable. Situated right in the heart of Lenox with Tanglewood and Kripalu just a few miles away, HT was the perfect place to stay for a relaxing and restorative few days. Our room was clean and quiet; the bed very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again.
