So many amenities - lovely breakfasts, central air throughout - makes a big difference - magnificent room, and we were very comfortable - cable, wi-fi, balcony, robes. Very clean, and no "old house" smell. Beautiful grounds. Great pool, though very cold - we're told they may have some heating accommodations next year.

Family-owned winery was great - enjoyed the tastings and bought a case of wine

I adored my comfortable and elegant room. I wish I had the chairs and ottomans in my own home! The grounds were so beautiful and I loved sitting outside in nature enjoying the flower-filled yard with bunnies scampering around, squirrels racing up trees, birds calling to each other, and butterflies fluttering about. The inn is a stone's throw from the vibrant downtown area, but completely private as it is set back from the road down a short winding drive. Though it rained every day but one out of five, it was such a pleasurable experience, even when we lost electricity while I was checking in. The staff quickly assembled candles, glasses of wine and an enticing cracker and cheese platter to placate guests. I loved everything about it, except there were no soft drinks available and I had to go out to buy my own for breakfast and relaxation which was a bit of a pain and inconvenience.

We have been going for many years. The service is great. The location is perfect, right in Lenox, you can walk into town, but set back from the road in a beautiful setting with nice gardens, sitting areas and swimming pool. The full breakfast is fantastic. There are always homebaked cookies, lemon water or lemonade from their orchard.

The rooms vary. Some are small. Others have fireplaces, balcony's, etc. it depends on what you want to spend. All rooms are attractive.

Whether it's curling up on one of their big, comfy sofas, or floating in their large pool, or simply drifting off to sleep in a dreamy 4-poster bed after one of chef Bob Luhmann's excellent dinners (fresh garden greens; wild king salmon lightly napped in beurre blanc; herbed shrimp and scallops over tender hand-rolled pasta; homemade peach/raspberry pie) and a night at Tanglewood, the Garden Gables Inn is a cut above other places we've stayed in the Berkshires. We can't wait to return.

My wife and I have spent about a week each summer in Lenox at Garden Gables B and B during the past several years. This delightful Inn is located in the very heart of Lenox, about 2 miles from Tanglewood and very close to the numerous cultural and scenic splendors this area offers.
The Inn is charming and welcoming in appearance. It is well maintained and the rooms are quite attactive, some with canopy beds. Some bedrooms are a bit small with limited closet and bathroom space. Nevertheless the general decor and ambience of Garden Gables is most inviting. Fresh lemonade and chocolate chip cookies always await you in the foyer upon your return from your day's activities.
In a sitting room a variety of wines and glasses are available for your tasting pleasure. Incidentally the wines and hard cider are produced at the attractive family orchard, just a few miles away and worth a visit..
Breakfasts are gracious with a buffet of fresh fruits and freshly baked breads. Eggs, french toast, pancakes and bacon are cooked to order.
A large private swimming pool is immediately adjacent to the Inn.
Although there has been some recent change in management, the new Inn keepers Peggy and John sre doing a fine job in maintaining the high quality of the Inn. After 50 or more summers in the Berkshires, Garden Gables is our favorite.

My husband and I obtained tickets for the Tony Bennett concert at Tanglewood and needed a place to stay for one night. Friends of ours recommended Garden Gables Inn and said we would not be disappointed. They were right! Our room, though small, was delightful with views overlooking the garden. The queen sized bed was comfortable and it was as quiet as sleeping in our own bed back home. Breakfast was fabulous and included in the room price. Everyone we had contact with was lovely and very helpful with directions to restaurants and local art museums. Once we got back home, I discovered I had left a new bottle of perfume in our bathroom at the inn. I phoned immediately and they were gracious enough to send my perfume back to me. All in all our experience at Garden Gables Inn was wonderful and we intend to return soon.

Our private cottage was luxurious, cozy, and warm. We had a private covered patio looking out over beautiful gardens and lawns and trees. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The main house and restaurant were grand. We can't wait to go back to this quiet classy Inn.
