“Ideal honeymoon getaway”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

We just spent 4 nights at the GG Inn on our honeymoon, and couldn't have wished for a better location. The Inn is within easy walking distance to all of downtown Lenox, and easy driving distance to a number of fun outings. But it was just as much fun to spend time at the Inn itself. Our room was beautiful! (We were in #19) Cathedral ceilings, skylights, fireplace. The staff provided us with easy-to-light Duraflame logs for our fireplace - very cozy! - so we could settle in by our own personal fire each afternoon - great on a cold winter afternoon. There were fresh chocolate chip cookies every afternoon, and several lovely rooms in the main part of the Inn in which to rest, relax, read, play cards, whatever. Breakfasts were ample and incredibly delicious -- we pretty much did not need lunch each day! I personally recommend the Apple Strudel French Toast - their speciality. Kelly and others who served us each morning were friendly, welcoming and bent over backwards to make us feel special, pampered and relaxed.
I would highly recommend the Inn to anyone, and look forward to going there again for another special event in the future.

Spent this past weekend at the inn. We love visiting the Berkshires, I think this is my new favorite place. They do it all right here. The inn is charming, rooms to hang out in, several fireplaces throughout. We even had a fireplace in our room, which was so....comfortable and cozy. It was a dreary weekend weather wise so we spent more time than usual at the inn during the day. It's a great spot to relax , read, chat, etc. the breakfasts were delicious, beautifully presented. The innkeeper Denise, has the right combination of friendliness and knowing when to leave her guests to themselves. On Sunday morning we met the owner, who stands in for her on that day. He too, was so nice and very hospitable. I will look forward to returning to the Garden Gables Inn, hopefully sooner than later. We stayed in room 1, our friends were in room 4, both were nice rooms and very comfortable. Had dinner at Alta and Trattoria Vesuvio (recommended by Denise), both were good.

Room Tip: My guess is that all of the rooms here are nice.

garden gables is essentially a large b&b with a sometimes open restaurant. it's fine if a bit expensive. the reason to go back is not the inn but the innkeeper, denise. call to see if she'll be working before you book. she's also an accomplished chef and will cook for you if the dining area is closed. far and away the best meal from lenox to great barrington and all in between. she custom made our coffee and even found an emergency dentist in 15 minutes. she was our # 1 innkeeper from 7 am to midnight. some people talk a good game and some are as real as the day is long. denise is the latter.

Garden Gables and particularly Innkeeper, Denise, made our stay particularly warm and welcoming. We drove from Boston to meet family who were in the area from Michigan. We wanted a spot where we could have a relaxing night but also where we could sit for a bit and visit with some loved ones. From the moment we arrived, we surrounded by warmth and thoughtful hospitality. The inn is beautifully kept and is very cozy with fireplaces throughout, warm decor, and the charm that only a New England home built in 1780 could present. We stayed in Room #15 and it was beautifully appointed and had a private balcony and fireplace. When our family arrived, Denise was thoughtful enough to lay a fire in the "Sherry Room" which was a wonderful setting for catching up and exchanging gifts by the fire. A delicious cooked-to-order breakfast including fresh squeezed orange juice (delicious!) ended our stay at Garden Gables. We will definitely return to this beautiful and well-kept Lenox inn.

Room Tip: Room 14 and 15 are both beautiful with private balconies, kings beds, and fireplaces

This was our first mother daughter weekend in the Berkshires and we really enjoyed our stay at the Garden Gables Inn. It is a great home base to explore the neighboring towns. We stayed in the cottage rooms. They were charming, well appointed and private. We especially loved the fireplaces! Breakfast in the morning is in the main house and there is a little kitchen area where you could grab a hot tea or cookie in the evening. The town is a bit of a walk from the Inn so we chose to drive it but it is less than 5 minutes away by car. Great restaurants in town and the orchard and winery were a fun activity in the afternoon.

First time in the Berkshires and will absolutely be returning. Denise is friendly and very helpful. She went out of her way to make our experience as wonderful as it was. the place is cozy and warm. breakfast is not just cereal. each morning, we ordered omelets and were not disappointed because Denise is also an amazing chef! Homemade breads and muffins, fresh fruit and yogurt. Homemade cookies and sherry also available to guests at no cost. The bed was better than hotel quality and the bedding was just too comfortable! The room cleaning service was very efficient. my husband loved how hot the shower water was! Went for the second annual caroling festival in Lenox and thoroughly enjoyed it. Again, garden gables is highly recommended. If you go, be sure to visit their winery! Delicious!

Room Tip: Room 4 was perfect for us. we loved the way the fireplace was in the corner.

This was our first trip to the Berkshires and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay! The inn is cozy and inviting. They provide modern amenities without sacrificing historic charm. We stayed for one night in early December and the beautiful decorations throughout the inn really put me into the holiday spirit! We loved sipping sherry by the fireplace and the complimentary breakfast was very tasty.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. I loved the gas fireplace and the jacuzzi!

All of the staff was pleasant and friendly, especially Denise, who made us feel welcome the moment we stepped in the door.
