How wonderful to walk into this B & B and be offered hot cider and a warm fire while waiting to check in. Lisa, the Innkeeper, was so pleasant , could not do enough to help...with the lugguge etc. The room was beautifully decorated, bed extremely comfortable, and best of all was the breakfast prepared by Michele! French toast suffle!
Delicous! Beautiflly presented and served. Eiran, the new manager could not do enough to help. Looking forward to my next visit here in the summertime to check out the
fish pond and all the gardens! Can't wait!

My husband and I arrived on a Friday night at the Cornell Inn exhausted from a trip from NYC and a hectic work week. We were instantly transformed by the tranquility and comfort of the lobby, and the warm reception by Lisa, the Innkeeper. Our room was gorgeous! It had a fireplace, fridge, wet bar, king size bed and a little terrace with a table and chairs. The bed was awesome, comfortable and clean. The decor was very inviting.
After unwinding a little, we found our way down to the cool ittle bar off the lobby, very comfortable. A great night's rest was topped off with a fabulosu breakfast in a sunlit breakfast room. One regret, that I didn't get the blueberry muffin cake recipe! A great place to stay, will def. return in the warmer months ahead.

From the moment we checked in the manager Eiran and Inn keeper Lisa made my wife and I feel as if we were special. The room we stayed in the Barbara was large and beautifully decorated. The breakfast prepared by Michelle were to die for. Each morning we were treated to granola (the best my wife ever tasted), fruit, cheese and an special hot meal of quiches. You can walk into town, although there are some serious hills or you can walk the nature trail right behind the Inn. If you choose the trail you find a beautiful scenic overlook at the top. To sum up great food, venue and most of all wonderful people can be found at the Cornell

We visited The Cornell in March of 2010 for our anniversary weekend. Upon arrival, we heard that the Inn had recently changed hands and was under new management. The couple who now own the Inn were very friendly and accommodating. They were full of suggestions for ski rentals and restaurants.

The room we had reserved online was not available when we arrived due to building issues, but we were offered two other rooms with a free upgrade. The room we stayed in - Frances - was a very nice room with lots of space and a wonderful fireplace. It was very comfortable and we had a great time.

What we liked best:
- The management
- The delicious food (homemade granola, wonderful breakfast concoctions)
- The wonderful location and setting
- The great porch outside our window
- The wildlife

What we liked least:
- While it was very comfortable, some of the features did need updating. We are sure that this is in the plans of the current management and do not count this against them. For example, some of the lamps/lampshades did not match.

We hope to visit The Cornell again soon. It will be neat to see what changes the owners make as they grow more comfortable with their new establishment.

We were planning a trip and meeting friends in Lenox which was a central location for both couples. We really didn't know much about B & B's in the area but chose the Cornell Inn based on their location, the appeal of their web site and price. We could not have had a better experience anywhere. From the minute we arrived Friday ,we were warmly welcomed, not only by the greeting we received from two of the Inn Keepers, Lisa and Eran, but also with a much appreciated cup of delicious hot mulled cider. The Inn is really lovely and there is a sitting area with a fireplace on the main floor where guests can gather for conversation. We were delighted with the beautifully appointed guest room- that looked exactly as it was presented on the website and it was spacious had a very comfortable bed and very quiet for sleeping. Breakfast was so much more than what we've been accustomed to in other B & Bs - it really was a gourmet delight. The dining area was light and open and Michelle the other Inn Keeper and Eran's wife is the breakfast chef, although Lisa contributed her absolutely delicious rasberry-apple muffin recipe. We were within walking distance to downtown Lenox and a short drive to Great Barrington and Stockbridge. We chose restaurants in the area for dinner based on great recommendations We returned to the Inn after dinner to find Lisa's freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and a note left outside our room. We credit those special touches, the Inn Keepers and the ambiance of the Inn for a truly a wonderful weekend. Our next visit to the Berkshires will most definitely include a stay at the Cornell Inn.

We have stayed at the Cornell Inn numerous times over the past ten years and were anxious to see how the Inn was doing under new management. In short, the Inn is doing quite well and as its transition continues, should be back in no time as one of the top inns in the greater Lenox area. Our positive experience began on the phone when booking our room. Lisa, the innkeeper, handled our reservation and was nothing but professional and accommodating. We were a bit concerned about traveling with our infant son, and wanted a private space so as to not disturb any other Inn guests. The Edith room in the Carriage House was the perfect spot for us. It was a two room suite with a galley kitchen. While the kitchen is a bit dated, it was fully eqipped and had we been staying for a longer period of time, would have been a terrific amenity for keeping snacks and drinks and making food, as needed. The suite offered us ample space in the living area (fireplace, couch, two arm chairs, bar with stools, and small dining table). The bedroom upstairs in the loft was a bit tight, but we spent a comfortable night on the queen sized bed. The bathroom is small, however, that is a structural reality and the space is used as well as possible and is tastefully appointed with fresh linens. Upon arrival, Lisa greeted us, showed us some of the changes that had been made at the Inn since the new management took over (including a lending library and public computer station for those who have not brought laptops to tap into the free wireless), invited us to partake of the snacks and hot beverages available to guests during the afternoon and walked us around the grounds and to our room. We greatly appreciated her attention and warm welcome. While we did not have much need to use the main house during our stay, we did enjoy a delicious breakfast there. It was nice to see that the dining room has maintained its warm and intimate atmosphere with cozy tables for couples and small groups to sit at, and the food served was delicious and fresh. Eiran, the new property manager, made his rounds during breakfast, being sure to greet all the guests and to inquire as to how their evening and accommodations had been. Michelle, Eiran's wife and chef for the Inn, personally served the breakfast of quiche (multiple choices), fresh bread, fruit and broiled tomato and chatted with guests. Lisa walked around topping up coffee mugs and ensuring that everyone had everything he or she needed. Also featured at breakfast were fresh fruit, a variety of hot beverages, homemade granola (we were treated to a bag to take home once we expressed how much we liked it!), and cereals. Overall, we were quite pleased that we had the opportunity to stay at the Inn again and to get to know the new management. During previous stays, we had always loved the charm and warmth that pervaded the buildings (we had stayed in numerous rooms over the years). Eiran, Michelle and Lisa are working very hard to restore a positive reputation to this lovely inn and it is worth giving the Inn a shot under their care. Service, friendliness, atmosphere and quality of food are all excellent. Additionally, Eiran, Michelle and Lisa each made us feel quite welcome as guests traveling with an infant. Value for the room is fair and on par with prices that we have paid in other area inns during the off-season. Some changes that we think will enhance further the quality of the stay at the Inn include: upgrading TVs to flat screens, replacing the furniture in the Edith room so that it is less bulky and more matching to the antique-looking period pieces, placing information binders in each of the rooms detailing Inn policies, local attractions etc..., and offering "to go" cups for coffee and tea as guests depart.
