“Manhattan-Quality Italian on Pittsfield Road!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

This white-linen restaurant is a real find for lovers of Italian food. I had medallions of chicken with portabella mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes in a marsala wine sauce that was equal to anything I've had in the best Italian restaurants in NYC. My wife's seafood dish was excellent as well, though the clams were very small. Side dishes of polenta and potato croquette, with bits of garlic-flavored broccoli were excellent. An unexpected surprise in the Berkshires, where many restaurants charge top prices but don't always deliver quality dishes to match. Highly recommended!

“Great food, great atmosphere, authentic food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

This place has authentic Italian food, that is very reasonably priced. I had the shrimp fra diablo.
It was really good, with some large shrimp! They have white table clothes,. and they bring you water right away to your table. I had their mozerella onion soup, which was a close call for French Onion. The broth was really flavorful The music was nice soft Italian, with the perfect lighting. The tables are adequeately spaced apart from each other. Very reasonably priced.
I would go there again.

“A little pricy for pasta that was not homemade, but enjoyable experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

This trattoria reminded me of the Tyrol with its wooden beams and rustic ambiance. Linguine alla puttanesca was very good with lots of capers, olives and fresh basil, but at $17 I would have expected homemade pasta. Huge serving. The raviolis did appear to be homemade and also could have fed two. Very good meatballs, moderately priced wine list and really excellent service.

“Up and Down”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

We stopped in on a Saturday night on the way back from sight seeing in Lenox. We were surprised at the crowd on a holiday weekend. The ladies behind us ordered Lasagna and my wife asked them about it. They said it was their favorite. We could see why. Very thin home made noodles like we had in Tuscany. It was very good - that's the up. I ordered the Puttanesca and ask the server if the cook was from Naples. She said no but the owner came from near there. I figured that is good because Puttanesca is a Napolean sauce. My serving came and it was huge, Could get at least three meals from it! The olives, capers and anchovies (I think) were there but on top of the noodles. Those ingredients are supposed to be cooked in the sauce and not a garnish. Also, the noodles were definitely not home made, That is the down. So overall an average outing. Would recommend the lasagna and not the Puttanesca.

“Quaint Old Country Italian Dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

Quaint atmosphere with post and beam vaulted ceilings with wood tables and ladder back chairs. Classic Italian music plays in the background. Prices are reasonable and the food is very good. The veal specialties (Picatta and Saltimbocca) were tender and flavorful. The grilled eggplant appetizer was overwhelmed by the balsamic marinade. House wines were a good value. Service was excellent. Overall experience was very good.
