We've been traveling to The Berkshires for a week every summer for many years. Twice within the week, we'll dine at Cafe Lucia. We like dining on the covered deck. Great place to people watch and avail ourselves of the great outdoors of The Berkshires. Jim Lucie is a wonderful host and takes the time to make sure his guests are comfortable and well accommodated. The food is very tasty. I never have to look at the menu. I always get the same things because I like them so much: the calamari salad and the pasta Bolongese. My wife usually gets fish. Somtimes we have room for desert. The food is delicious. While some people complain that Cafe Lucia is pricey, that could be said about any restaurant in The Berkshires. This is a short window of opportunity for trade and innkeepers and restauranteurs have to take into account the seasonal nature of their business as well as supply and demand. At least you can depend on Cafe Lucia for consistently delicious food and good service. Cafe Lucia honors reservations and your table will always be available on time. That's more than I can say about some of its neighbors on Church Street who we no longer patronize. Either their food is good and the service is terrible or vice versa. My only complaint about Cafe Lucia is that it's not open for lunch and that it's closed on Monday. But I guess that's so the kicthen and staff can be focused on delivering a superb dinner experience.
