Very good in most respects. A little steep in price for the Berkshires, but quite a place for couples who don't want to struggle to hear each other speak.

A very lovely room but when the bistro is crowded you'll be able to salt the next table's food from your seat. We split duck confit rolls and a salad of beets, kale, cipolini onions and a goat cheese briquette that was covered in panko and deep-fried. The sweetness of the beets with the sourness of the kale worked beautifully. Our mains were planked salmon and chicken thighs. My wife loved her salmon but I found the chicken a little tough - it needed more braising but they crisped the skin on the thighs and did not want to soften it. The solution is to deep-fry the skin separately and add it as a garnish. With coffees but no dessert, and including taxes, tip and two glasses of wine the bill was just under $125. Despite my complaints, if we ever get back to Lenox, Bistro Zinc is worth a second visit.

With the most warm and pleasant ambiance, we have favored the Bistro Zinc the last two Octobers. From the wine selection to the menu choices, again we enjoyed ourselves. Sure in the French style the tables for two are close, but both years we met interesting people, even following up on other occasions with other dinners in other venues.

A nice place for lunch, good sandwiches - had a grill cheese that was out of this world good. Staff was friendly.

Best Coq au Vin I have ever had. Husband had a hamburger that was equally special. This is our third visit and Zinc has been consistently excellent.
