“flavorful and fresh”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Had dinner last night in this terrific resturant. The ambiance was relaxed, pleasant and efficient. The food was fresh, well made and amazing flavors. The menu was good for the adventurous and the bland members of our party. The price was reasonable for good food and good service. We have been here several times when visiting in the area. We definitely recommend Jae's.

“one of the finest lunches ever!”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Fine food--we had the special lunch "boxes" which came with a soup (unbelievably great hot 'n sour!) AND brown rice (on request).
Both the Korean pork and chicken were great. We plan to route ourselves to come back while we're in the region....

“Adequate Asian”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We went to Jae's with a friend who was in the cast of shows at Shakespeare and Company. It was convenient and nearby. The food was mostly bland (except the spicy shimp and calamari). The staff was monosyllabic and our waiter could try to smile or engage if he really wanted to - which he apparently didn't. The burgers (which were billed as "Kobe" Burgers) were OK - certainly no Kobe beef there. It was convenient and reasonably priced. Nothing special and nothing to recommend it in an area with a lot of interesting restaurants.

“Can't Beat the 1/2 Price Sushi”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We were looking for "ethnic" food and found Jae's just down the street from our hotel. They offer 1/2 price sushi on Wednesday's and we had a ball. They offered a nice selection of sushi and rolls from a limited menu - fish was extremely fresh and the combinations in the rolls were very good. We had a short wait, so make reservations if you can.

“Worth a stop!”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We happened to be in the Lenox area in late July. Saw this restaurant as we were looking for our motel. After checking in, we head back to Jae's and although it was a Wednesday night, the place was very lively and there was a brief wait for a table. But oh was it worth the wait!

I had never seen or heard of "asian style pancakes" and after seeing it on the menu the waitress explained very well how the "Seafood Pancake" was made. And it sounded quite delish (although I did ask them to leave off the squid from mine). I also love Edamame and had an order of that as well. I must say that the seafood pancake was incredible! Very flavorful - it's similar to crab cakes but done more pancake style. I loved it very much! And the edamame was not overcooked - they were perfectly prepared and seasoned.

I had to ask why it was so crowded on a Wednesday night and I found out that they have 1/2 price sushi on Wednesday nights so it was mostly locals who were eating there. I was very happy we stumbled upon it. My husband enjoyed his meal as well but after sampling my seafood pancake, he admitted that he loved it more.

Service is good - just be patient on Wednesday nights. If you are in the area, stop by no matter what night of the week it is. The menu is full of lots of options and you will not be disappointed.
