“Great theatre”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

We come to the Berkshires every year and we make sure to
see at least one show at Shakespeare & Company. This year we got tickets to see The Tempest are were not disappointed. The theatre is conducive to showcasing Shakespeare and service at the box office is top notch.

“Save Your Money- DO NOT get tix to Allergist's Wife”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

Suffice it to say people were leaving at the intermission, as we did, after a badly over-acted farce whose dated, old self-hating Jewish stereotypes caused visceral pain in the audience. The Arabic doorman had a Russian accent. The husband was so stiff we thought he was reading a script in his palm. The "Jewish mother" played a caricature of a caricature. And the main character— a midlife depressed woman trying to find the meaning of life again—was played as a madwoman gesturing wildly all over the stage. It has a mercifully short run for another few days; we just want to warn fellow TripAdvisors NOT to get tickets even if they are handed free to you!
