Stopped in before a concert at Tanglewood! Crowded but very competent staff. Good food and drinks. Nice location and nice place for lunch.

We were in between performances at Tanglewood, the morning rehearsal and the evening. Stopping off in crowded Lenox we found a good spot in free municipal parking and walked a block to the Olde Heritage Tavern on Housatonic Street. It was so good that we had to write to recommend it. We had 2 really great lobster rolls and "for later" before the evening concert took out a grilled chicken breast and a salmon burger. Lunch was accompanied by two ice cold draft Smithwicks. Service was very friendly and quick. The atmosphere was typical sports bar/pub with TVs showing the World Cup soccer. Fun, good food, good service, and really very reasonable prices.

The heritage or the Taj as the locals like to call it is the honey hole of Lenox. The taj takes all type and is a good place to meet locals, eat good food and enjoy some drinks

Four of us had a late lunch/early dinner at The Olde Heritage Tavern recently. We had tickets for a 7:30 play at the W. Stockbridge Berkshire Theatre Fitzpatrick Main Stage, a short drive away. If you've tried, you'll know that finding a restaurant that's open before 5pm in this area is difficult. But this one is open from lunchtime through to the end of the night. Are the offerings graced with vanilla balsamic sauce; or bourbon inspired demi glace (how exactly does one inspire a brown sauce?); or massaged kale!? No. But it's good good, with a bit of flare and fair prices. I had the fish and chips and a friend had the salmon BLT wrap. Both were generous portions and very tasty. The pizza that went by our table made us jealous we had not ordered one. Various beers and wines, not a long list but you'll find something you like. Outdoor seating in good weather, and maybe 20 tables inside, on either side of the bar.

We were in Lenox July 4 for a James Taylor concert at Tanglewood and looking for a light lunch. We walked into the Tavern and loved the whole atmosphere. It was crowded with people of all ages and many enthusiastically watching the World Cup Soccer matches. We were told there would be a wait and ordered drinks at the bar. There is a good selection of reasonably priced beers on tap and the service was great for a busy day. Madeline, who appeared to be in charge of seating, was really working hard to accommodate the guests. We were seated in a timely manner and ordered a light lunch from the calm and cool waitress. My strawberry salad was delicious. The serving was a good size and the price was less than $10. My husband had a tuna melt with sweet potato fries and said they were excellent. The service was very good. We were allowed to eat and linger as we liked despite how busy the Tavern was. Probably not a good date spot, is fairly noisy with lots of TV's and sports on. We had been there before and had a similar positive experience. Would definitely go back. The bill was under $25 for lunch and two drinks. Can't beat that for value!
