We (2 couples) just returned from a relaxing mini vacation in the Berkshires. Days Inn Lenox was conveniently located and priced very reasonably. We wanted clean and comfortable accommodations with 2 rooms next to each other. and that's just what we got! The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast, though simple, was just enough to start our day. New bed linens, a hot shower and decent television completed the package! The hotel is located on a main road but is still relatively quiet. We were a short distance from the attractions and areas we wanted to visit. We spent some time in Stockbridge which has a charming main street. Highlights included a trip to Peace, Love and Chocolate - you have to try their pumpkin latte and dark chocolate covered ginger. If you stop at the Red Lion Inn, you should take a moment to meet Simon, the hotel's cat. They also have a nice gift shop. Also in Stockbridge is the Norman Rockwell Museum. The grounds are beautiful with a great example of a Berkshire "cottage", Norman Rockwell's studio with beautiful vistas and the museum itself which was very interesting. Take the time to view the 12 minute film on the lower level and also take the tour of the studio before you enjoy the museum itself.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Sullivan's Station in Lee. Located in an old train station complete with ticket booth, the restaurant offers delicious meals and friendly service. The loaded baked potato soup and homemade bread were a great start to the meal. The steak au poivre with creamed brandy sauce was excellent and we topped it off with the mocha ice cream puff which was more than enough for two.

Further down the road, you should make it a point to stop in Great Barrington. The downtown area is artsy with interesting architecture, unusual shops and a choice of restaurants. We especially like the Gypsy Joynt shop which had funky clothes, jewelry and scarves.

Make it a point to travel to Richmond MA to visit the Hilltop Orchards. The folks there were very nice and they make the best cider donuts ever! Apple picking was a lot of fun and the apples were the best we've ever tasted. They also sell different jams, honeys, salsas and homemade pies. They invited us to sit by the fireplace and taste some of their delicious wines. You have to try the apple ice wine.

Venture down the road and you'll end up in Canaan NY. Right after you cross into Canaan, you'll find the Canaan General Store. They sell just about everything there including freshly made breads and a wide selection of candy and baking items as well as seeds, flashlights, pickles, outdoor furniture, you name it! If you follow the signs to the glass blowing place, you will enjoy watching two artists create beautiful glass pumpkins, vases, lamps etc. It's called Hoogs and Crawford. You can ask questions about their craft and see how works of art are made.

We picked a great week to go (10/15-10/17/13) since the foliage was beautiful. We really enjoyed our visit to the Berkshires and Days Inn Lenox was the perfect place for us to stay!

Rooms a little dated.
Quiet. The fridge noise can be a little annoying.
Comfortable.
Good location.
Reasonable continental breakfast.
Reasonable value.
I'd return to this motel again while passing through for a night.

We’re happy to learn that you were pleased with the hotel overall – especially the guestroom comfort, cleanliness and continental breakfast. We were however certainly disappointed to hear of your unsatisfactory room looks dated. We will continuously be doing work throughout the property for the years around so that we are constantly moving forward. Please accept our sincere apologies and know that your comments have been shared with our Management. We appreciate that you took the time to share your feedback.

You are very welcome to see you again!

Great motel at a great price. It's on a major road, but still so quiet I didn't need earplugs, which is very unusual for me. Also, I arrived after having spent two hours on I-90 with a flat. They gave me directions to a Monro a couple of miles up the road. Also, they refunded my money for the second night—without my even requesting it—when I decided to go home early from the conference. I was weary and they were especially kind and generous.

Our Team is honored with your praise of our hotel. Cleanliness and staff friendliness/helpfulness are among our top daily goals. Always nice when our guests recognize the efforts of our Team.

We are honored that you found our customer experience to be so noteworthy as this is truly a team effort. Although we are a mid-price hotel, we strive to provide the kind of service that one would expect from an upscale hotel. We may not have all the amenities of a full service hotel (e.g., no restaurant or bar), but we can, and do, provide the friendly, responsive, helpful service that makes a hotel special.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
