Had a wonderful July 4th weekend at Gateways Inn. The innkeepers were so welcoming, we felt like we were visiting home. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the fabulous home cooked breakfast that came with the room. There was fresh fruit daily along with a delicious hot dish each morning, Michelle Wendy out of her way to accommodate food allergies. The inn is conveniently located close to Tanglewood and walking distance to the shops and restaurants in town. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at the inn and the live music in the piano bar each night. We will definitely return.

We were very pleased with the room, service, and food served at the Inn. The innkeeper could not have been more helpful and breakfast both days was superb. They make their own granola which is fabulous!

Gateways Inn is a classy place without being stuffy at all. We were in the Juliet room which was spacious and comfortable in all ways. The place is in tip-top shape, and the owners were friendly and helpful. In addition, we had a delicious dinner that came with a package deal, and the bar is charming and well-stocked. Both of our breakfasts were delicious and very satisfying. I felt like The Gateways Inn offered the coziness of a smaller B & B, but with the amenities of a country inn.

We attended a June wedding here. There were approximately 80 guests. There was a pasta buffet dinner on Friday night, the wedding Saturday evening and a Sunday Brunch. The food was outstanding. The standout entree was the Chilean seabass--extremely fresh and beautifully presented. Among those guests who stayed at the Inn (not us), the review was mixed. Some thought the rooms charming, others overpriced.

When we stopped in front of this beautiful Inn, I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised! I didn't know we were going to stay in such a lovely place for the two nights we were in Lenox. The inn was the summer home of the Proctors, of Proctor & Gamble fame, and is beautifully detailed and maintained. The room that we stayed in was a large, attractive, clean, comfortable room with a king sized canopy bed and a bath with a jacuzzi tub in it, for an extra treat. Even though the room was just on the other side of the well stocked bar, and close to the kitchen area, it was very quiet. There was a Keurig coffee maker with a nice dark coffee selection, a refrigerator (complete with a couple of chocolate truffles), and a carafe of fresh water. Our host and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The inn is right in town, close to shops, restaurants (not that a good restaurant was necessary because the one in the inn was superb), galleries and Tanglewood.

Dinner and breakfasts were completely delicious and highly recommended. Scotch lovers take note of the extremely well stocked selection of single-malts. The piano bar is a nice touch.

Two minor suggestions--upgrade the alarm clock to one with an iPod dock, and replace the blinds in the center window of the room we stayed in with ones that reach the bottom of the window. The blinds ended about 6 or 8 inches above the bottom of the window and we felt the need to cover that part of the window for more privacy (which we were able to do without much difficulty, so it was indeed a minor issue).

Room Tip: Go for the jacuzzi tub!
