“BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED HOME”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

This is a must visit while you are in the area. The house is being restored beautifully. The history is explained all around the house so that one does not need a tour guide.

“The Mount was fabulous and even a Free Jazz concert”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Labor Day weekend decided to do some day trips.... Visited Stockbridge and Lenox MA. It was a great day of visiting both the Norman Rockwell Museum and the Town of Stockbridge MA. Finished the day by going down the road to Lenox, MA and seeing "The Mount" . It is a beautiful old mansion, beautiful gardens, sculpture around the grounds. The Mount closed at 5pm, but they offered a FREE Jazz Concert on the Terrace that was fabulous. Mount visitors and the general public were offered the Free concert. The concert was from 5-8pm. They offered light refreshments, wine, drinks, and more. I would go back for the concerts anytime. It was a wonderful day.

“Step back in time at The Mount”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

I loved walking down the path through woods and a sculpture park to get to the house. The tour of the house was excellent, very informative. This property was lovingly restored to the vision that Edith Wharton had when she designed and decorated this home. There are wonderful videos and exhibits to add more detail. Sitting on the back veranda, you could imagine how much she loved her gardens and the view it provided. A must see.

“A must-see for Edith Wharton enthusiasts”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

The house and grounds are splendid, but even more wonderful is the history associated with Edith Wharton and her circle--including lots of old-fashioned literary gossip!
