Originally the town hall, the Library is a beautiful building to see and sit in the reading room for a quiet hour of magazine browsing.

This library is so fantastic it squeaks! Not just the books, the staff know everything as in everything! Go if only to see the ceiling and architectural details. The history of the building alone is mind boggling. And another beauty of the MA library system is that if you have a library card in one it's good for all the libraries in the Commonwealth. If you can't find what you are looking for or need, the staff can look it up and tell you where it is in any other library. Besides you are minutes of walking away from so many other things the village has to offer.

The Lenox library is our home away from home in the summers. We spend a lot of time there, borrowing books, attending lectures and buying books at their great book sale.

Perfect retreat for a quiet place to study while in town, browse the rows of books and settle down for a good read in a classic New England library

This is a beautiful old building, well restored, lovely ceilings and decor. Always some display about history of the area, and of course a large choice of books. Internet available, and used books to buy in case you run out of reading while you travel. I would not have thought to go to a local library on my trip, but wanted to see a display about Tanglewood. I was so happy I did not miss this beautiful sample of old Americana.
