“Authentic and Marvelous Food”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

We were referred to this wonderful restaurant by a visiting Kripalu student here in the
beautiful Berkshires in Western Massachusetts.

Having dined in the best Indian establishments from London to Jamaica to New York
City and Miami; this was truly the best authentic and delicious Indian food we've had.

Our evening began by tasting a new dish on the menu called Tamarind Eggplant. It was
a lovely combination of flavors and textures which featured a thinly sliced eggplant deep
fried to a caramelized crunchy sweetness. The chickpeas and fresh mint made this starter
a wonderfully filling and gratifying way to begin a meal.

After two bites we were convinced that we would be back.

My husband and I also shared an order of Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the
Palak Saag, ( a vegetarians dream) of pureed Spinach, Mushrooms, Cauliflower and potatoes.

Oh, and did I mention that this terrific spot sits on Lake Laurel in Lee, Mass.

We are so glad that we made the effort to find this gem.

“Excellent Indian Food”
Reviewed June 5, 2012

You will not be disappointed. Lake view while you eat. I had the tandoori shrimp, which came sizzling on a platter. Large shrimp. My husband had the lamb. Also had an order of garlic naan. Cleaned the plates.

“Amazing Indian cuisine”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

The food is off the charts. We frequent Indian restaurants in Manhattan, and they do not compare to Bombay. The variety is outstanding, the spices are splendid, and the menu is extensive. The only negative is the service. It appears that one man is running the entire operation, which makes things, at times, chaotic. Nonetheless, it is one of the best places between Great Barrington and Lenox.

“Tasty (and spicy!)”
Reviewed January 5, 2012

This restaurant is in the hotel where we stayed, so we didn't even have to brave the cold to pick up our dinner to go. The 2 dishes we got to share were VERY spicy, but in all fairness, the menu warned us. The prices were pretty reasonable, and we enjoyed the food. If I were to order these dishes again, I would ask for less heat... their menu clearly says that they will adjust it according to your taste.

“Great Indian food”
Reviewed December 26, 2011

This is one of my favorite indian restaurants in either the Berkshires or New York CIty. The location is lovely. Half of the tables are in a skylit room with huge windows facing a lovely little lake. The other tables aren't as close to the windows, but still have the same view. It's just an absolutely gorgeous setting any time of the year.

The menu contains most usual Indian dishes, and also items that I've not seen in other restaurants, at least not in the Berkshires. One of these is an appetizer called Ragara, which is two spiced potato cakes topped with chick peas in a moderately spicy sauce, finished with cilantro. Another is a Masala Dosa, which is sort of like a crepe filled with spiced poatao and other small veggies. All of the main courses i've had are great as well, from the Lamb Saag to the Chicken Tikka Masala My only complaint with the food is the rice pudding, which seems to be consistently a bit on the watery side.

During the summer months they have a wonderful buffet which costs aroun 11 dollars. The buffet is only available on Sundays at other times.

I highly recommend this place.
