We selected this Inn, based upon reviews on TripAdvisor and couldn't have been more pleased. Len and Gloria have clearly thought of every detail that will make their guests stay wonderfully comfortable, from the wine served at 5 in the parlor, to the cookie jar full of delicious choc chip cookies, to the guest kitchen where we could stash our food and beverages before picnicking at Tanglewood. They provided a great back roads map to T'wood so that we avoided traffic both nights getting to and from. Breakfast offered many hot and cold choices. The grounds, pool area and screened porch - delightful. The only complaint that we had related to our room. Don't stay in Room 2 - it's right at the top of the stairs so much noise from the entryway on the main floor. Also the bed was simply a mattress on a platform bed, very hard and uncomfortable. There also seemed to be a urine smell in the room. But room aside, we loved our stay and will certainly return, just to a different room.

My husband and I spent a few days here to attend a Tanglewood concert. Len and Gloria are a lovely couple that run the inn. We stayed in the carriage house which was very comfortable. A great chestnut tree stands just outside the door and was a great place to rest on some lounge chairs. This is a good inn to just unwind and enjoy the berkshires. Breakfast was included and could have been somewhat grander.

Pam made each one of our family gathering feel welcomed and pampered. The 2 youngest kids actually cried that we had to leave. Two of the middle generation (of our 3 generations) most loved playing the baby grand piano in what they called "an appropriate room." (They grew up with a baby grand in a small NYC apartment...) The Carriage House/Cottage were luxurious accommodations for both space and ambiance, and the common areas were large and inviting. Breakfast was spectacular, with everyone wanting recipes. The location right off the Mass Pike, but still rural and beautiful, is a wonderful meeting point between our NYC and Boston families, and we look forward to our next big celebration ! THANK YOU for making this one so special.

A lovely property with wonderful, friendly hosts and staff. The Main House is beautiful. Very large and welcoming public rooms. Gloria and Len go out of their way to help in any way possible and make their guests feel totally comfortable and at home. Our first choice for a return trip to the Berkshires.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with any choice.

This was our first visit to the area and we found the Applegate Inn to be by far the most comfortable and accommodating B &B we have ever experienced. The innkeepers Len & Gloria, as well as their staff, went out of their way to insure that all our needs were met. They are warm and friendly hosts, knowledgeable in the attractions the area has to offer. Our cottage was immaculate and well appointed. The main house offered many amenities including games, books, DVD's, snacks and afternoon wine and cheese. Our candlelit breakfasts in the main dining room were deliciously prepared and elegantly presented. We look forward to a future visit!

A true gem in the Berkshires. The Applegate Inn was the perfect location for our anniversary getaway. This was our first trip to the area and the Inn exceeded all our expectations. Our hosts, Gloria and Len went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They're wonderful to get to know and very helpful. Gloria was even able to arrange for surprise flowers for my wife to be in the room for our arrival.

The Inn is located in a picturesque quiet section of the town of Lee, Massachusetts. Its an absolutely perfect middle location for all attractions in the area. The rooms are extremely quiet, clean, and well kept. There were many room choice options for size and amenities. While we weren't the only guests there at the time, we never heard any of the others.

The breakfasts were by candlelight as advertised which is a nice touch and the food is excellent and plentiful. The lemonbread and salmon patties the first day and chalah french toast the second day stole the breakfast headlines. Wine and cheese at 5 is a must - great after a full day of touring and sightseeing. Work on the community puzzle while enjoying the wine. A bit early in the season for the pool, but its setting looks delightful and would love to be in it on a future visit.

Can't say enough good things about the Applegate Inn! We will most definitely be a return guest, so much more to see and explore in the area and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Fresh coffee awaits you in the morning. Bring a cup back to the room to enjoy while you're gett...

This was my first visit to the historic Applegate Inn and my friends and I enjoyed it very much. Because there were 5 of us, we stayed in the cottage, with its updated ammenities and lovely view off the deck. The inn was clean and luxuriously decorated. The innkeepers were delightful! It was a pleasure chatting with them at the evening wine & cheese hour and learning more about their lovely inn and the local area. Breakfast was delicious! I would highly recommend the Applegate Inn as it is a comfortable & relaxing getaway in a convenient location...just minutes from most Berkshire attractions.
