I found The Chambery Inn to be very nice, comfortable and in a good location.
An issue I had, was that the staff was young and did not have too much knowledge of the area.
Also, one of the mornings we stayed there the host on duty did not show for breakfast and we did not get breakfast until approx. 9:30 am (it was requested for 8 am).

Besides those issues, it was a very nice, clean place with lovely rooms.

have stayed there 9 times in 9 years! last 2 times the staff and service was lacking! Very rude . The breakfast was a disaster. Too bad because we really enjoy the Berkshires and also Sullivan's Station.

Me and my fiance love to stay in jacuzzi rooms and wherever we go across the states we try to find one. The funniest thing that the best one is so close to home - we live only half an hour away from Lee. Still we stay there at least a couple of times a year. The FireSpa Suite # 104 in the Chambery Inn is the best, best best, I cannot say enough! It is the biggest ever jacuzzi, I really mean it, you could probably fit 4 in there, with underwater light, a whole bunch of nice massaging jets. It is right in the bedroom, not in the bathroom like in many places, so much nicer than facing a toilet, so much more romantic! It is sitting in a niche surrounded by wall size mirrors and has side tiled skirting where you can sit on or put your glasses/candles. The mirror surrounding is extremely romantic. There is a nice gas fireplace with a fluffy rug in front of it. Yummy room delivered breakfast, very helpful staff completes the perfect picture. Other rooms have very tasteful decor and canopies, but the jacuzzi beats them all! Stay here!!!

We stayed at the Chambery Inn for two nights in October 2004 - part of our trip across New England.

The Inn itself is charming - a converted schoolhouse with VERY large rooms, still with chalkboards. The furnishings and fire were very nice, and the picnic breakfast was lovely. The service was fantastic - we returned from a long day, very cold and wet and asked where we could make a cup of tea - a tray of tea and biscuits was brought to our room within minutes!

Our only problem was that we didn't think much of the town of Lee - we had to drive quite a distance each evening as the restaurants in Lee were mostly closed. There is book in reception with sample menus from all the restaurants in the area.

Unfortunately, we visited on a Monday and Tuesday at the end of our trip - I guess weekends would see a lot more shops and restaurants open. Also we had the only bad weather we encountered on the whole of our trip - cold, driving, torrential rain for a full 24 hours. No-one's fault, and certainly not unexpected in October in New England, but it does rather influence one's impression.

All in all, we would definitely stay at the Chambery again, but would choose a weekend visit this time.

We just returned from 2 relaxing nights at the charming, Chambery Inn. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were huge and nicely decorated. The chalkboards left in the rooms from 1885 were so quaint and it was fun adding our names and drawings. Breakfast that you order the night before, is delivered in a huge basket to your door. We were able to eat the plentiful breakfast, including the excellent, fresh from the oven, muffins in front of the fire. There are many restaurants within walking distance which we enjoyed. We are definately going back!!!

We stayed there for the Labor Day weekend and absolutely loved it. Nice, quiet, and clean and the breakfasts were great. We'd definitely stay there again. Only reason they are getting 4 as opposed to 5 stars is because we could hear the people moving around in their room upstairs (we were on the main floor) in the morning, but it is something we are used to living in the city, and hey, the building is over 100 years old! The front desk clerk also managed to get us a same day reservation for From Ketchup to Caviar (when we were having dinner they were turning away people w/o reservations) and when we forgot to order the cream w/our coffee for breakfast and called for it, it was there in 2 minutes. Great service and a great place to relax and get away from the world! We plan on going back!

Overall a good stay. The rooms are large with very high ceilings. They are decorated well, but seem a littel worn. The ceiling fan was so old it would not spin without a great deal of noise. The advertised jet tub was so loud it was not pleasant to use, and it was rather small. On the plus side the breakfast in bed was very nice. Delivered with nice linens in a cute basket. The value was good comparied to other rates in the area. However it is a bit out of the way, not much but we did find ourselves driving alot. Also note the rooms that face tthe street are very noisy trucks come and go in the am. Overall it was and average experience. However it should be noted I am used to staying in the Ritz Carlton. If you are looking for good value and antique filled rooms this inn will please you.
