On a crisp mid-autumn afternoon I stopped at Crane Beach hoping to photograph a scenic and well-maintained beach. I wasn't disappointed, so be sure to bring a camera if you're similarly inclined. After paying $8 as a non-resident I found ample parking in a large dirt lot. Wooden stairways led over the dunes to the beach. There were convenient benches on the wooden walkway near the steps and a short leap down into the sand. The beach was nearly pristine despite the ravages of storms and what the tides often bring in. Seagulls and other shore birds were abundant. I most enjoyed the relative solitude and beauty of this jewel by the sea. I disliked nothing but having to cut my visit short to make it to a business meeting before nightfall.
