My wife and I have just spent 6 days at Saltwinds. After much research we choose this B&B and I would have to say that it is one of the best decisions we have made regarding holiday accomadation. Ginny and Craig are without doubt the best hosts you could wish for, we were made to feel like one of the family as soon as we arrived.
Nothing was to much trouble and they both gave us quality information on places to visit that we would never have found ourselves
Breakfast was a pleasure good food and plenty of interaction with Ginny and Craig and the other guests all of us discussing the days events
Location was perfect able to walk to the beach.
Overall a great week and would definetly go back as feel like old friends

Thank you both so much for your kind words. We truly enjoyed meeting you both and we are very grateful for your business. Too bad the time went so quickly as we had so much fun with you and all our conversations. Have a great winter and look forward to seeing you again someday. All our best

I have never written a review on a site like this before and have only been motivated to do so after going through the reviews of Salt Winds and noticing amongst all of the great sentiments, one very confusing negative review. My wife and I have stayed at Salt Winds every summer for the better part of the last ten years and from the beginning have never experienced any issues here whatsoever. Ginny and Craig have made us feel at home from day one. In fact their place has become something of a second home for one ( too short) week every summer. Is this the Four Seasons? No. And that's what's good about it. These are people that you can converse with and really get to know. In fact, a couple of years back my wife inherited a Time share at one of the more "upscale" resorts on the Cape yet we only use that for a couple days as we would hate to miss our experience at Salt Winds and still come here and will continue to do so for as long as they will have us. Anyway, I know this may not be a traditional review, but I just needed to add my two cents.

Jimmy;
Craig and I want to thank you for your review, we appreciate it so much and more than that we appreciate the friendship we have developed over the years. We so look forward to seeing you both each year, our season would not be complete without your visits. I have to say the best part of this business is meeting people like yourselves and getting to really know our guests. We are so lucky to have so many loyal guests and we are very thankful.
Thank you again

Our stay at Saltwinds was just terrific! My husband was interviewed by the local news channel because it was raining and he was sitting on the porch. He was really happy despite the weather, because we were just made to feel welcome, appreciated, and as if we were staying at the home of a favorite family member. Ginny and Craig are warm, gracious hosts, and everything about their Bed and Breakfast was great. The food was fine, the young people who worked there were lovely, and we really had a fabulous six days. I would highly recommend this great place to anyone.

My husband and I traveled to Hyannis from Cedar Rapids, IA to visit friends who recommended this B&B. They were so correct in doing so! We stayed in the apartment and it was perfect for us. Plenty of room, very clean, close to shopping, the beach, the ferry, etc. The decor and landscaping was so charming! The owners were absolutely fabulous! They were helpful, very kind and funny. The food was absolutely amazing... better than any breakfast restaurant. We couldn't have been happier with our experience and will most definitely be back in the future!

Cape Cod is our favorite vacation spot and it is all because of the Salt Winds B&B and hosts Ginny and Craig. We first went there more than 20 years ago and we continue to make this a yearly trip whenever we can. Since our first days there they have always made us feel at home, especially when our children were young. Waking up and having breakfast on the deck (now enclosed) is something to look forward to. Not only is the food plenty and delicious, the conversations with the other guests along with Ginny and Craig starts our day. What did you do yesterday? What's planned today? Have you done this yet? Do you need that? You name it and they are right there helping everyone. Walking distance to downtown and the beach is a big plus. We went to a concert at the Melody tent. Ginny dropped us off and although Craig wanted to pick us up later that night, we decided to walk. It's that close. We went to Marths'a Vineyard and as always, Craig brought us to the ferry and then picked us up, saving us a parking fee. He also had discount tickets for us. When we overdue it, we relax in the heated pool. We bring our cooler and snacks, take a dip and get to know everyone staying there. By the time you leave, it's like you knew everyone for a long time.

B&B staff is very accomodating. The girls that clean and wait on you are very nice. They are always willing to help. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. my wife especiall like the fresh laundered linens and the nicely decorated rooms. We have stayed in just about every room plus the efficiency a few times and never had a complaint.

We will be going back to the B&B every chance we get. Can't wait until next year!

Pro: 5 minute walk to beach/15 minute walk to main street; Swimming pool was wonderful and clean. Niamh, the breakfast server was delightful and engaging. Breakfast: 1st morning: fried egg with a slice of ham on an english muffin with 1/2 cup fruit; 2nd morning: 3 small blueberry pancakes with 2 sausage links and 5 or 6 green grapes. Coffee, tea and juice was available upon request.
Con: Despite the website claim, there was no ceiling fan in the efficiency and they were unwilling to drive us to the ferry. Since the small air conditioner is in the kitchen area, we needed to purchase fans for the bedrooms. The two hallway smoke detectors were inoperable, the air conditioner cover and filter were filthy, the toilet seat was loose, the shower head plumbing was rusted and the door and window screens were in need of repair. The air conditioner had brown-stained washcloths used to prevent outside air from coming in instead of proper weatherstripping.

There has never been a time in our 27 years of doing business that we refused anyone a ride to the ferry here in Hyannis. Breakfasts have always been a big draw for us and anytime someone has not had enough to eat they will always be offerd more. We also offer two choices each morning and if there is a special dietary need we will do our best to be sure there is something for them to eat. For the hundreds of people we have come through our doors this year alone there will most likely be an unhappy customer. Smoke detectors were just inspected by the town and if they didn't work we would not have our permit, some guests do tamper with them on occasion and if that were the case why not let us know? The shower head was and is not rusty, air filters on air conditioners are cleaned on regular basis. For the reason of buying fans it was an extremely hot summer but if one were to put the AC on and leave the windows closed long enough to cool off they would have been fine. Our check-in time begins at 2:30 which we inform all guests when making reservations. On check-outs when units are being cleaned we shut the air off because we are never sure when someone will be arriving. We ask for approximate arrival time so if it is hot we can turn the air back on and cool the unit being rented. If one shows up 2 1/2 hours early I am not going to apologize for it not being cool. We do our very best to be sure all our guests are happy and if they ever need anythig all they have to do is ask. Upon check-in we go over everything with our guests, give them maps of the areas, places to eat, beaches we think they should experience, rides to the ferry and many times we drive guests into town so they can enjoy a glass of wine or two and not worry about driving home. I would put our place up against anyone else in this town. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and then cleaned thoroughly on check-outs. You just can't please everyone all the time no matter what.
